KAIGUN no TEISEI UMMEI
"Navy of Imperial Destiny"

Note that the Kaigun no Teisei Ummei play only on the Asgard server. This is an incredible mod that will soon be releasing version 2. This version will include over 60 custom ships made by modeler Baene, Player loot drops, alot more contraband and legal commodities, capital ships etc. Come to the Asgard forums to find out more. Situation:
Kusari space has been overrun by foreign interests intent on spreading their lax morals and destroying the traditional cultural traits that have made the Kusari society the most advanced, both morally and technologically, in all Sirius. Kaizoku (pirates) have congregated in their enclaves intent on piracy and the spread of the great evil that is Cardamine. In the midst of this I, Shogun Kaegogi, have found unimpeachable proof that the descendant of Emperor Suijin lives amongst us and shall soon be ready to ascend to his rightful throne.

Mission Statement:
The mission of Kaigun no Teisei Ummei is simple and includes four elements:

1. Destroy the kaizoku kasu (pirate scum) that infest our space and bring the evil of Cardamine to destroy our society.

2. Limit the influence of foreign ways and thought in order to maintain the purity of our culture.

3. Return our society to the protection of the Shogunate.

4. Ensure the ascendancy of our Emperor as destiny demands.

Execution:
Plans for the completion of our mission shall be made available only to Samurai.

Requirements for Joining:
1. Be a Kusari citizen of noble descent and worthy of wearing the title of Samurai.(Your [KTU character will need a name that at least sounds Japanese/Chinese/Korean etc)

2. You must demonstrate your courage by operating independent of the Kaigun no Teisei Ummei. When you appeal your worthiness to my attention I expect to see a history of intense violence. (A character with at least 100 kills)

3. Be capable of contributing to the advancement of our cause upon acceptance.(have a character with at least two million$ to deposit into the Hoko 'treasury')

Faction Organization:
The KTU shall be organized in a directly hierarchal structure.

Sozokunin: All authority is directly derived from the Heir to the Heavenly Throne, the Sozokunin.

Shogun: The commands of the Sozokunin shall be made known through the Shogun. The protector of the Throne and Great General of Kusari

Daimyo: Following those commands and leading the Samurai are the Daimyo. Commanders of the Samurai and rulers in their own right.

Samurai: Following the Daimyo are the Samurai. Noble warriors of great skill and culture.

No others are worthy of our consideration.

Each Daimyo shall command a Han of 3 Samurai. Once a Daimyo retains a fourth Samurai for his Han his senior Samurai shall be established as a Daimyo in his own right. Once the KTU reaches 3 Han in strength a fourth Samurai will be added to each Han's Table of Organization and Equipment(TOE)

Advancement in the KTU:
The KTU is a military organization that values the Warrior Ethos. Each of the Samurai has the potential to rise to the position of Daimyo or even Shogun. While the defense of the Sozokunin demands that I remain as Shogun until his destined ascension I recognize that I shall need the very best warriors in the position of Daimyo.

In order to ensure that only the finest of the Samurai retain the position of Daimyo I have established a Trial that shall be called Funto Shi'te Susumu (fight one's way).

Once per month a call shall be made to all Samurai that desire advancement. All Samurai that answer the call shall be ranked and a list shall be sent out to each.

Upon receipt of the list it is the responsibility of each Samurai to engage his compatriots on the list in one on one duels of honor. All results shall be reported to the Shogun so that the list of remaining Samurai may be updated.

All Samurai need only engage the number of their compatriots that I specify, this shall ensure there are no slackers who wait until they only need one fight to advance to the final duel.

The final duel shall be between the last Samurai and a Daimyo. The winner of this duel either ascends to or retains the position of Daimyo. Further details shall be made available to those Samurai who answer the call to Funto Shi'te Susumu.

Recruitment:
Each Daimyo shall be responsible for the continuing recruitment of worthy Samurai for his Han.
Any son or daughter of worthy lineage who feels they have the martial skill and cultural refinement necessary to be Samurai may contact the Shogun through PM or while in space comm [KTUShogun_K.

KTU Awards

As Shogun I feel it is imperative that Samurai be rewarded for their achievements. Following on the same lines as the Ashigaru pilots that support us, the Kusari Navy, I have decided that all Samurai and Daimyo will have their awards, rank and call sign listed in their signature. To the left of their graphic will be placed their call sign. Below this shall be their rank. To the right of their graphic will be their awards. I have chosen to give up the awards that I earned during my 24 years of service as a pilot in the Kusari Navy, however, for the time being my signature will display all the awards that may be earned by a KTU Samurai or Daimyo.
I will soon follow this message with others giving a description and criteria for earning each award.

Awards and Honors

Kokennin no Kusari "Guardian of Kusari"

Awarded for extreme valor in combat. Earning the Kokennin no Kusari indicates the Samurai knowingly placed his life in the greatest of mortal threat. The Kokennin no Kusari reflects the greatest of moral and physical courage and a willingness to junshi (follow ones lord in death).
Criteria for award: The Samurai or Daimyo who earns this award must have the recommendation of his/her Daimyo.This award is given for verifiably haven engaged three player ships of equal quality or more than four of a lesser status in combat silmultaneously and having won the engagement with no aid from NPC or other player ships. Final authority for the awarding of the Kokennin no Kusari rests with the Shogun and must be approved by all Daimyo.

Kunan no Yuki "Cross of Valour"

Awarded for extreme personal courage in combat. Earning the Kunan no Yuki indicates the Samurai placed his/her life in high mortal jeopardy. The Kunan no Yuki reflects high honor upon the Samurai and Kusari.
Criteria for award: The Samurai or Daimyo who earns this award must have the recommendation of one Samurai or Daimyo of the Kaigun no Teisei Ummei. This award is earned for verifiably haven engaged two player ships of equal quality or more than three of a lesser status in combat silmultaneously and having won the engagement with no aid from NPC or other player ships. Final authority for the awarding of the Kunan no Yuki rests with the Shogun.

Kaigun Hoshi "Navy Star"

Awarded for valorous action while engaging the enemy. Earning the Kaigun Hoshi indicates a high level of courage and the willingness to sacrifice ones life for Kusari. Any Samurai or Daimyo who witnesses or hears of an act of bravery by another member of Kaigun no Teisei Ummei may recommend this award. The final authority for this award rests with the Daimyo, the Shogun may review the reward at his desire.

Kizu Shirushi "Wound Badge"

The Kizu Shirushi is awarded to any Samurai or Daimyo who, having engaged with or been engaged by a numericaly superior enemy, has his/her ship destroyed while inflicting a similar loss upon the enemy. Authority for the awarding of the Kizu Shirushi rests with the Daimyo.

Kills: 500 (replaced by Wakizashi)

Kenjutsu no Kusari "Swordsman of Kusari"

Kamon (Mon)
Each Han shall display a Kamon (Mon) on a banner in their signature in order that they be easily identifiable to all denizens of Asgard. This banner shall be displayed immediately beneath a member of the Kaigun no Teisei Ummei's rank. A Kamon will be chosen by the first Daimyo to establish the Han. Should a Daimyo not desire to design his own Kamon then the College of Heraldry shall choose a Kamon based on the characteristics of the Han and its leadership.

Also on the banner shall be displayed colored ribbons that demonstrate the Sozokunin's Recognition for events of magnitude in which the Han has been represented. These events will normally be battles of signifigance or lengthy campaigns. Currently the Sozokunin has recognized only the Han Yoarashi for their display of valour in the Battle of Hokkaido.

Due to no fault of Cryogenius' awsome program that is not reflective of our actual membership at this time. This is slightly better if you consider only those playing on the Asgard server. It is still incomplete however.

This is because Asgard only publish the top 300 characters on the server, which is around Rank 33. This means that only KTU members above this rank will be listed. I have modified my code to include (KTU) tags in the KTU clan roster.
