lod0 missing gun barrels

If I import a gun .cmp or .3db into Milkshape, and I use lod0, then the barrels don't show. (Use lod1+ and the barrels appear, but of course in lower detail.)

Where can I find the files which hold the image-information for the lod0 barrels?

My current theory doesn't strike me as very convincing, but it's the best I can come up with: I'm thinking that this is determined by the gun type (proton, etc.), thus determined by the gun's projectile_archetype's weapon_type. But even if this is true, it doesn't seem to get me any closer to the lod0 barrel's image file.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've now tried that, but it's still the same problem.

The only way to get the whole model to import requires the destruction of the CMP, basically turning the Compound (CMP) model in to a simple mesh (3DB-).

This is the "co_proton_cooker.cmp"

Open the gun model in UTF Edit and delete the nodes in red, so that all your left with is the "lod0.112.vms" node, then "save as" it as what ever you want (butchered.cmp ).

The "rigging" and the "animation" are what's causing the import to fail, small tip, if it has an "animation" node then chances are you'll have to do a spot of rebuilding work, as the barrels will not be where they're meant to be.

**shuffles off with a new headache**

Thanks a ton, that works. The groups are not all in the correct place relative to each other -- I guess that information is lost along with the rest -- but it's easy enough to move things back where they're supposed to be. Oh, and I found that at minimum you can just delete the 'Cmpnd' node. Thanks again.
