No plot in 4.0?

The post on the front page states that version 4.0 is an opensp mod. I was just wondering whether or not it would be possible to pursue the FL plot whilst utlising this modification.

I tried doing that with v3.0, but it had so many bugs it was unplayable.
I am hoping, at some future time, to modify the missions to run in OUR Gemini sector.

The main problem I had with v3.0 was that Freelancer doesn't like having the systems messed with.
To many errors creep in, because the engine is tied so closely to the systems.
In v4.0, I rewrote Gemini from scratch, and simply moved Sirius out of the way, and made Sirius invisible.
Once I know that the bugs are out of the Gemini sector, then I can begin adapting the missions to match Gemini.
As long as I don't run into any engine related problems, it should be doable.

I'm kinda scared that the FL Engine won't let me do it outside of the Sirius Sector.
The two seem almost inseperable.
(And untouchable.)

Open Sandbox is a bit boring, to me.

I know what you mean. OpenSP has its advantages, however it lacks a certain amount of direction. Freedom is one thing, but there is such a thing as having *too much* freedom .

Sirius isn't invisible exactly... at least on my machine. It shows up on the left side in a compressed format. It's no big deal and doesn't interfere with navagation. It's kinda funny though.

One thing I'm kinda split on thou is lack of "trade lanes" A lot of the systems are chocked with debris or asteriods and the AI sucks when going through them at cruise speed. If nothing else, can we have safe paths that are free of debris?

Also, commodities. I know its gravy compared to everything else, but commodities still aren't very balanced yet.

All in all, it FRAGGIN ROCKS! Keep up the awesome work.

Well, in order for Sirius to by visible, you've got to have a corrupt file.
Behaps a bad download, or you need to uninstall/reinstall Freelancer?

Tradelanes weren't in Privateer, so they're a mute point.
The asteroids are in the exact places that they were in Privateer.
The debris fields were added were it was felt they were appropriate.

As to the commodities...
They're difficult to get right.
There's a zip file in the equipment folder if you'd like to help with them.
