found another problem with the Mollys

flying in Molly space sometimes oyu get attacked by one molly (well they never were bright sparks to begin with) the problem lies in the fact when you kill the person attackign you you hear two or more others talking and getting ready to attack you

"Green 1 is dead , im leader now"
"i have the target in my sights"
"i am engaging the target"

etc etc , yet there are no ships at all in the area , not even anyone elses , seems either the mollys ships is well not there and hasnt been replaced with another one , or they are flying a cloacked ship without weapons and a acloack they dont even know how to turn off :p

It is only I who have a bug with the "Lance Torpedo"?

As soon as I fire away they blow up and the whole shield is destroyed.

Ah, thanks for reminding me about that. Ya, that happens about every 4/5 times I fire a lance Torpedo from my centurion. Its on the first missile hardpoint. Every now and then it will fire, but most of the time it just blows up on me.

*bug*
I used my super ship (lvl 7 shields lvl 4 generator 4 tachyon 1 fusion 2 lance torpedo centorion) to blow up the pirate base in mission one before delta wing and CTD. its probally to insure that delta wing detroys it.

MAJOR BUG*******
Well I've been playing all day and everything was going great until I landed on Buffalo Base. I can't launch, the game crashes every single time I try. I've tried changing ships, equipment, everything. I have essentially lost my game there. Can something be done about this bug, and/or is there any way that I can edit any game files to change my location?????

small minor bug , not a major "omg this must be fixed" thing

Omega 11 (the Red dwarf system with the really bad radiation)

there are currently several "bountry hunter ship" wrecks , all seem to be the centurion , the problem is you cant see the ship till you are with in 20 metres of it , also cant shot it to make the weapons/cargo appear till you are in that 20 metres , i double checked this , went slowly towards the ships , at like 3 on the speed dial and saw the ship at about 18 - 19 metres or what ever the measurement is

problem

Confed Bretonnia Gunboats are trying to dock with the battleship , the problem is the gunboat is way to big to be doing so , doesnt fit at all and just gets stuck there , no other ships can then dock , i sat for 30 minutes waiting on "dock currently full please wait" and still couldnt get in gave up and went to planet Cambridge instead

solution would be to either make the ship not want to dock , or to dock other places , ir some of the space stations docking berths rather then the battle ship

edit : also forgot to mentiont he selection box around the gunboat is off , the box sits about 25 % below where it should so that the top of the box is near the top of the ship , the bottom is way below it

Still haven't found the one causing the crashes!
But I have a sneaking suspicion that it's not so much the ship file, as it is where I used it.
IE:
The Drone replacing the Nomad Fighter...

&

I've found a cause, if not the main cause, of the crashes:
I substituted the Drone for the Nomad Fighter & Nomad Gunship.
With the Drone out, I'm not getting the crashes, but in, it crashes all over the place.
I still need to finish testing the remaining ships, but I believe that this was the only bug in the mod.


Chips had a similar problem with Nomads in his Evolutions. Although he didn't replace the Nomad ships with other ships, he did put them in more places if I recall correctly. And when they were in with random encounters he had an increase in crashes and a greater lack of stability. It may be a greater problem than just the fact you substituted the ships.

Yeah, FL is very protective of their Nomads.

Talon's crashed FL so bad I had to reinstall it, and rewrite my rewrite!
It acted as if it had a virus, but I found none.
I had to delete the mod, because all of the ships became invisible.
It was like floating through space with no ship, no weapons, and no one around.
Couldn't get the mod to work again, even with your files deleted.
But every other mod works fine.
Really wierd!
And the Demon... I was so po'd about the Talon's I didn't even try it.
I just yanked the Demon, instead.

UPDATE:
Beta v2.4 has been uploaded, hopefully it'll be available soon.
I've removed the Drone, Paradigm, Vaktoth, Crossbow, Broadsword, Morningstar, and the Demon.
The Drone was the Nomad replacement causing all of the crashes.
The Demon is mostly invisible, so it's mostly useless.
The Vaktoth has pieces that are invisible.
The Paradigm is to big to be a Gunboat, may use it as a Cruiser, later.
Haven't had a chance to test the Paradigm, Crossbow, Broadsword, or Morningstar, so I just pulled them for now.
Add the Tarsus and Galaxy back in, want to see if anyone gets a bug using them.
The Orion has me suspicious...
In the FP7 opening scene, it looks like it's pilot is drunk!
But put any other ship there, and it's rock solid...
So the Orion's another "watch-it" ship.
(Pulled it from the FP7 scene)

Crap warzog, I don't know what to say. I've had no problems yet. I've been using the Talons (all three) in the version of your mod that I use, and have been activating and deactivating your mod hundreds of times trying to figure out the problem with the Demon.
Using, web-based e-mail should have kept me free from most types of viruses, shouldn't it? My e-mail server claimed that it detected no viruses. I only sent you .cmp files, minimally edited from what you sent me...sorry if it seems to be my files that caused you grief

I had no problems with launching from Buffalo Base, but when I was going towards Alaska jumpgate from the satelite, when it supposed to lay a waypoint to the Alaska jumpgate it will be relocated to the New York systems's Sun, And Only King & Juni will follow me towards the jumpgate.

Can you delete the nomad faction and create instead a Steltek one?

I would say... for the final mod, delete all extraneous information, data, infocards, models, factions, everything to slim it down and reduce the number of bugs

It may be that the files were simply corrupt.
I don't know.
It was just downright wierd.
I checked out the MTalon, and it seemed to work.
But when I went to check out the PTalon, everything went nuts!
First, it crashed as the main menu loaded.
Then I rebooted, and it crashed during the Transport scene at FP7.
I rebooted again, and removed your files.
Ran the mod again, and all of the player's ships were invisible.
Uninstalled FLMM and FL, reinstalled both, ran the mod, same thing.
Ran another mod, ran fine.
Deleted the Geminiwc (ship) folder, and replaced it with a copy from another version.
Still invisible.
Started a new version, and I've had no problems since.
Now tell me...
Doesn't that sound like a virus?
But, just so you know, I ran my antivirus program, updated it, re-ran it, but nothing.
and just to let you know, I'm not blaming you, just explaining what happened, and why it didn't work.
I realize you spent a lot of time on them, and I appreciate it.
Perhaps you can email them to me again?

Speaking of which:
1) No new mods on LR today-wierd.
2) My mod was returned as undeliverable.
3) Someone from here, a member, emailed me saying that they got an email through LR from me, with a virus attached.

The Nomads are part of the Freelancer.exe program.
Mess with them in any way, and crashola!!!

Warzog : maybe for the nomads simply remove them from every system except the ones needs for the story line ? would that work ? and in the other systems have the Steltek's faction and ships ?

@Warzog, I've been busy that's all.

I agree making a new faction for Steltek may be easier than trying to convert Nomads. Afterall, you only have to have one barren base with one weapon for sale. There wouldn't be any Steltek in the bar and they don't buy anything nor sell anything (except you picking up the steltek gun). So the primary focus of the faction is just having them fly around.

Are you going to add the Steltek base? Are you going to add the Steltek scout ship?

How strong will the Drone ship be? It was invincible in the original until you got the Steltek guns ... is there a way to make the shields on a drone impervious to all normal weapons, but the steltek guns are a different phase that can actually destroy the drone? The FL example of this is how Plasma-based weapons have more effect on (I forget exactly) Graviton shields, but less effect on Particle shields (whatever). Somehow a setting to tweak to these factors could bring the same objective as you had in Privateer, you need the Steltek guns to fight the drones! But of course the guns will be very effective against normal shields as well.
