So many ideas expressed above that I associate with... but in my own words:

- The feeling of... as expressed just before me... "I don't wanna leave my room!!!" ... Immersiveness!!

- The expanse of universe, the area giving to us to explore... without invisible walls or barriers being too close... the objects, anomalies, places, secrets, to be found... either by others... or just searching

- Trading systems... lots of commodities... many many trade routes, and the fun in getting to each location, making a good profit, and selling tractored loot accordingly

- Ships... and the ability to upgrade them with a large number of systems, weapons, and improvements...

- The story... gotta have one of those... but at the end of it... you still have something to do (See point 1)

- The belief that what I really hope to see and experience in the future... is just around the corner (See Below)

What I wish stayed:

- Ability to upgrade Neuronets as they had varying levels of capability.

What I want to see in the future:

- Ability to actually fly through the clouds down onto a planet...

- Ability to fly accross planets surface to locations, known, secret, underground, etc..

- Ability to actually walk and interact with these locations when down eg. Deus Ex stylish...

Ambitious, and there are more... but that will do for you Devs for now

I'm most looking forward to all things of alien (Nomad?) origin... I'm sure that's an important later part of the story - or at lesat I hope so! All the mystery to uncover, the secret weapons, a cloak for my ship, and whatever else!

Freelancers forfilles almost all my expectasions..
The singleplayer mode seems almost perfect and the multiplayer close to optimal..

As we see games like Freelancer expanding the limits off multiplayer action, I think we can look forward to even more open games..

Excuse me for saying this, but a game like "The Sims Online" (Haven't play'd it though) seems to be the perfect platform..
It allows the player to function in a "parralel" univers and progress and interact with all the other players (not just 168 or so). Imagine a spacegame where you actually would be able to work as a mechant fx. and then hire other onliners to transport or excort your goods to the destination.
Or enrole for the military and slowly progress the ranks and perhaps be in command of platoons of ships again controlled by other onliners.. The same goes for pirating and perhaps a player would be abble to produce goods himself or sell realestate at plpanets..

In answer to Gator - X2 has been in Beta for several months now, I can assure you it's going to be worth the wait.

From what I have seen, FL will be good and I too am looking forward to experiencing the universe - when I have time!
