How do I get access to Rogues; other "outlaw" base

Ok, so looking through the internet, it appears all of the ships I want to buy are only available at "Outlaw" bases.

My problem is I can't seem to ever get access to these bases. After the first couple story missions, I am aligned with "good guys" and am not admited to the rougue bases.

Whats the easiest and quickest way to
1) GET real money without totally slaughtering the outlaws
2) Get access to rogue bases to buy the better ships only available at those bases.

A: Play the no story mod, find the Hacks to get neutral to friendly with those factions, and or kill lots of cops and transports.

B: Download the IONCROSS Character editor, (only works for SP saved characters and not auto saves) Edit the player file to be friendly with the factions you need.

option A is more challenging, and therefore more fun in the long run. Option B is better to use if you still want to follow the storyline.

I know that you asked for the easiest but as you can split off from the stroy line at any time you can achieve what you need without cheat or mod. It is a long time since I played the story but I recall leaving Leeds after meeting Tobias for the first time and returning to NY. This is only aobut 4 or 5 missions in iirc. I killed enough Liberty Police and Navy to get neutral with the Rogues thus permitting me to land on their base but I had been so green with Lawfuls that I was still white with them even after fixing my unlawful rep. I bought a Dagger and finished the story missions in it.

Eezy peezzzy!

It is actually better for your rep if you don't take missions for factions. Every time you fly for one faction, another one automatically get unhappy with you. If you just fly against your enemies on your own -- e.g. the BH or Liberty when they are hostile -- you will increase your rep with all of their enemies and not damage it with any. The missions don't really pay that much anyway (except until well after the SP game). You can make more money tractoring in cargo from the folks you've blasted.

Super easy way to get all Liberty Pirates happy with you and make some moola while at it: hit every transport coming through the tradelanes near the badlands. They'll hate you, but the pirates will love you.

**Warning possible minor spoilers***** While everyone here is right to some extent, I disagree with the "don't do missions" idea. Below is basically the most fool-proof rep explanation for getting in good with EVERYONE that I have found. No mods, cheats, hacks required...it's totally legit, and works everytime.

One simply needs to be careful. Doing missions in a plot game versus in multiplayer/non-plot is a whole different ballgame. The plot will often (not always) correct your rep with good guys who are made hostile as part of the plot.

As a result, you can often take missions against these factions only to have it repaired later during the plot. As a result, killing liberty ships is a great way to go in the early plot to get in good graces with the rogues and outcasts. (be careful not to kill either as they are allies). In a non-plot game, the junkers are your best friends. Kill enough xenos to be able to receive missions from the junkers.

Then, go to rochester base and take anti-xeno missions from the junkers. They're easy missions with little pay, but they will raise your rep with almost every bad guy AND the good guys at the same time.

Once the junkers offer you such missions, try to take assasination missions or capture missions. These require killing only one target for the same rep boost as any other mission. This is important because killing xenos slowly lowers your zoner and bundschuh rep. (not important in a plot game..it will be fixed).

The zoners can be bribed with no ill effects....not true of the bundschuh. If done correctly, a single xeno kill on a junker mission will keep your bundschuh rep the same and raise your rep with rogues, outcasts, corsairs, mollys, liberty police, liberty navy, junkers.....and more.. .It is the golden rep move....best of luck!

**one last note...if you have some cash, you can jumpstart this process by bribing the junkers. This will make the rogues neutral immediately (if not 100% hostile) and bring the outcasts pretty close to neutral.**

Basically, if you just follow the story, the soonest you can be nuetral with rogues is right after the first bretonia story mission. you will be at odds with mollys, but if you backtrack to liberty and don't get seen by a molly, the rogues will be nuetral. Here are a few ways to get on their good side early on:
First mission: there are 2 freighters. during the fight, or after, kill the one not in mission brackets.
After first mission: when undocking from pittsburgh, shoot all the bounty hunters. also shoot up Agiera technologies, and more bounty hunters. do this in isolated areas, so liberty police do not spot you.

Beware pirates bearing gifts!

Or you could romp around the tradelanes ambushing freighters... a technique which has the lovely side-benefit of massive profits (provided you pick your victims carefully) and no consequences besides a few hostile gate sections in the middle of nowhere until you've killed dozens of the things...

...but if you've got an overactive conscience, you could always bash Xenos or take a bribe I suppose. Or blow up some unmanned storage depots that also contain loads of potential wealth in pilfered goods.

The Rogues are by far the easiest criminal faction to get on the good side of. They have numerous allies (Junkers, Outcasts, Lane Hackers) and even more numerous enemies. Definitely worth the effort, too, if only for the Dagger or the Mule.

Do it my way. And it has to be the simplest way of all.

Get IONCROSS Freelancer Character Editor and search for your saved game. Align your factions with the ones you want and you're ready to go. Also via the IONCORSS Character Editor, you can change your ship, weapons/turrets, commodities/ammo, nanobots/shield batteries, credits, save game name, thrusters, lights (e.g DockingLight, Contrail etc) and base you're currently on. You can download this software here. It can be a very useful tool.

Enjoy!
