as far as i no at the moment there is a star wars ship mod that is being made, if you goto http://www.xtremeteamstudios.com and regfister and then enter there forums. a user in is progress of making one. but bear in mind that there are part of lancersreactor (i think) there have current mods available but your need to see them. any comments goto them.
a mod hasn't been release for beta testing to the public, a forum topic is open on this mod to give suggestions or help... its still in the editing stage

No neither of these are what I'm looking for, and I've tried the newer version of mancer's that has the rebel fighters in it. My issue with that is, all the rebel fighters are for the bad guy factions (rogues, junkers etc...) and all of his ships are priced way too much so you can't even buy them during the soryline. I mean in New york the cheepest ship is $100,000, there's no chance of buying one of thoes unless you spend hours and hours on random missions that only pay out a max amount of 1200 credits. The hidden wreaks only give about 12,000.

So any further soruces would be appreciated.

Then... Try TIE Universe v.9. Everything is changed in this Mod even the sound of the engine and the weapons. All Bases and ships from the org Freelancer is canged.
BTW your starting ship is TIE Raptor!
