Help in Mods

Hi everyone.

I have finished the SP version of the game. I have now started a multiplayer game in which to futher explore the game huge universe. I have seen that there many mods that enhance the game experience. My problem is that i dont know where to begin...

Is there a standart/base mod that everyone uses (i am not talking about a custom mods that adds a new ship or two) something wich evryobody agrees that is a good starting point.

Thanks for your help.

all mods are different somehow
some use the standard system of FL and just add new stuff
others come with new universes and nothing from FL is left

Is there any special mod (inside the Fl Universe) that you can recommend?

If you're just entering the Mulitplayer arena, I'd reccomend starting on an unmodded server so you can get used to the (significant) differences between SP and MP. I know it seems that you've seen it all if you've completed SP, and maybe you have (if you've done some exploring after the game finishes, that is) but MP really is a whole new ball game, and vanilla is the best place to start.

Once you're comfortable with MP, maybe then you'll be attracted to mods.

Good Luck!

Hi everyone! I've just installed Phoenix mod 1.92 and started a SP game. At the begining my objective is to dock with Toledo, but I can't find it.

I know its a stupid question, but what is vanilla (besides the flavour)? Is it a site or a mode?

What i am really looking for is a simple mod just to get started. The mods list is very long (hundreds of mods) i am not familiar with clans, previous mods updates, etc.

I simply want a mod that opens all the jumpholes that are closed (like the dublin jumphole in ledds) , a neutral reputation with all factions and perhaps a couple of ships/commodities and new systems (but not essencial).

Basiclly something that will give an open universe in a Lan Multiplayer, so i can explore...

I remember seeing a couple of mods like this a few months ago but i cant find them.

Thanks for help

Vanilla isn't a mod. Vanilla is reference to basic Freelancer without any mods, i.e. Vanilla Freelancer = Freelancer Unmodded.

A Vanilla server is one that just runs the basic install of Freelancer from off the CD. Sometimes a server that mods just server-side also calls itself a vanilla server but some consider that to be no longer vanilla.

In my opinion, a vanilla server is a server that does not require the client to install any mods in order to experience all that the server has to offer.

When you look at the global server list look for servers that are highlighted in blue. Under version they should say 1.0. When you select that server you will notice a box in the lower left corner of the global server list screen. Often there will be info in there that tells you whether or not mods are required and if a mod is required where you can get it.

Good luck.
