I tried MP for a while, but I found out that i was just doing what I would have done in SP, except it occasionally got laggy/booted me. And, of course, whenever my server died I had to restart (it got annoying). In addition, you can't use mods on MP, or you have to use them carefully. Instead, I just do my own thing in SP, and have a hell of a time blowing up capital ships in my battleship encounter mod. My vote, dominate SP after the storyline. --- VH16

I agree, SP is a better playing option for a number of people because in MP it is impossible to do "your own thing". Many of the MODs for SP game add new a dimension to the game, this is also true of MP MODs. However, the game is call Freelancer.

I played a lot of MP until I realized, as others have, that I was just doing the same thing I would have done in SP, all the while being bothered by overcrowded, laggy servers, immature power-hungry and abusive admins and stupid players that want to use me as a transfer point for all their funds, bother me every time I pass them with

I finally deleted the bulk of my characters on most servers and started fleshing out my map in SP like I've been meaning to do for a while. Mmmm, so peaceful.

MP is where it's at. Humans are social creatures and in the end we crave human companionship. I played SP until I trashed everything I could and found the experience predictable. Humans, if anything, are unpredictable especially in groups. This can be enjoyable in some circumstances and upsetting in others. Such is life.

I do admit, the chat function and PVP are nice touches, but I still go with SP, mainly for the fact that in SP, your server's always on, never laggy, and will never boot you off. That is, unless your computer is messed up, but we can't blame FL for that, now can we? --- VH16

Sp only. I have no intrest in MP. There is the option of Open SP withoout the story and start at the bottom of the ladder.

Only use the SP just to test out ships and weapon configs. SP seems pretty pointless when you find that none of the NPC's are a threat, and the missions just get repetitive. So i'm gonna have to say that MP gaming is the best.

i cant play mp ( dont ask) but i think that over all sp is better if i want human contact i give a friend a ring and we go somewere now if you could get three hundred people on one server in mp that might be fun

After having this game for some time and playing every route possible (cop, pirate, trader etc...), the only thing that is fun anymore is being in a clan and participating in wars. On the server I am playing right now, war has engulfed almost all of the clans that play there. Its loads of fun, and I cant imagine ever going back to SP.

I use MP as a social thing, mainly to talk to mates and discuss FL in chat mode. Although I normally like to dominate SP and play by my rules. I find a healthy mix of both works best
