Freelancer Ini Analyzer Feedback

FLIA is a Freelancer configuration analysis program. Its aim is to free modders from bug hunting and let them concentrate on being creative. FLIA reads all configuration files, parses them and stores information to a database. Current version performs only syntax checking: section names, entry names, value types. Future versions will extend this to consistency checking like every gun has the corresponding munitions.
This is a program for modders, not for newbies.

FlIA reads the entire configuration. It even reads “\tng\info.exe” or “Solar\dockable\asteroid_base.cmp” files. It searches for configuration files the same way Freelancer does.
It reads compressed files on the fly. You don’t have to uncompress them manually (Uses BINI.EXE, slight modified version included in distribution).
It corrects on the fly the BINI 1.0 errors. Good if you have files already decompress.
It checks the syntax of INI files. For any error generated informative messages. You can go to the offending line and correct it. This means easier life for modders.

It's on Downloads section here

Just to let you know I didn't remove the comment section in the post.

Someone else did without asking. I spend hours on the testing and posting and then someone else does this

If there was a nasty comment why didn't they just delete the bad comment

Don't mind me it's just my opinion.

With all the locks around here it looks more like a prison than a form.

You can grab the installer version of this program from our website. This version will be available on TLR in the future but you should also refer to our website for the most up to date information.

i dont undertsand the two previous posts lol....

this utlity sounds like it could handle ship modifcation without having to change multiple ini files??

For justme:

FLIA does NOT modify/edit/change any FL files. It just reads them and report syntax errors.

I think it has to do with that guy who was leaving links too a wierd download to increase his 'character' strength on another site. It seems alot of comment sections that he posted those things in, and faking others names too, were shut. It must be someone else if not you baked - but i dunno who!
At least he has gone

p.s ( loved the bit about its all my fault cos he hates me - really - then why would he have linked it to a download under other names for the first few, and not even in my thread either! Wierdo.)

so its NOT like the NWN( NEVERWINTERNIGHTS) database connectivity then where u can modify the files on the fly???

Post Mon Nov 24, 2003 9:39 am

No. At least two versions FLIA will remain some kind of INI verifier. I'm not planing at the momment to make it an editor.

For those of you who grabbed the installer version from our website you should re-download it again, the file has been updated. The previous installer is set to delete all files in whatever directory it is installed to when you uninstall the program. So if you put it inside any of your Freelancer directories then you will have some problems. Grab the latest version on our website.
