I, as a low speed dial-upper, thank you in advance for considering doing that. It will make downloading so much easier if I can do it in chunks.

Post Wed Apr 21, 2004 8:14 pm

Just an idea, but:

You could also consider putting the whole thing available in one download for high speed users!

or would that be too inconvenient? I mean, people will download it either way.
(I know I will)

i think it's a gr8 idea to put it into multiple downloads - for ppl like me it's a bummer if you download lots on dial-up (esp. when you still have a 33.6k modem), and then there's some error and you gotta download again

Which ever way you do it it will be worth it, however in terms of the seperate downloads that is personally better for me. I am so looking forward to it and plan to be "sick" for more then a few days playing it

Is this mod going to be released still?

Post Thu Apr 22, 2004 6:52 pm

Opps, Its been awhile since I've been here, and I forgot about the 4 pages this thread had. I see now that post have just been made today

Post Tue Apr 27, 2004 4:52 am

Just to clarify, I meant do both, broke down into several downloads for the dial-up users and another download that is the whole darn thing for high speed users. That way everyone is happy. Just an idea.

That is what i will be doing, one download as "intended to be played" and then another one...which will still have a considerable sized download (as you NEED the files), but it will miss out some things - like Splash screen (10meg size reduction), sounds and other things that adds to size. The mod can be played like that, OR you can download the other bits instead, and build it up to what it should have been.............

Chips, I know your busy, but I have a question for you. I think someone tried to answer before, but I'd rather hear it from you. I emailed you about this, but again, I know your busy.

Will there be any changes to the Florida system, changes that would cause problems for my mod (SW ship add-on). I have redone the mod, rebalancing the ships and adding a few more to it, and there is quite a following of it. I hope that you will take a look at it when you have time and after I give it to TLR.

Thanks

eagerly awaiting chips new mod.

I can hardly wait for 1.28. 1.27 was a great mod but from all accounts 1.28 is light years ahead. *crosses fingers and continues to refresh TLR home*

Do you have purpose built mining ships? Reason being, I've been considering making models for a 3 ship class of mining ships which could be sold at mining stations which usually don't sell ships.

Noted that you had "mining lasers" included in the weapons listing. Very low powered/short ranged lasers? Mining laser turrets as well?

There is a new mining ship that is coming to facilitate easier mining. Its actually what the mod is waiting for at the min.

There still needs to be some beta testing (team is on it), but since all bug fixes are now just spelling/grammatical errors, info errors and that sort of thing, its safe to say that they are minor.

Good thing is that testers haven't experienced crashes for months - doesn't mean its 100% stable - but its looking good
