I'd agree that the Firespray is a real be-otch to hit; but try out a a few Nomad Torpedo salvos on one

Favorite(s): Sabre XR (any Xr ships, actually) and the Jedi T-Fighter. Ghost isn't too bad, either; unbelievable manueverability and speed

I actually had more fav ships during my FL playing&modding time, some of these were: the Stilletto and Sabre(didn't even now that the Sabre existed first times i played FL, i thought Stilleto was BW's best!!), then the BD Dragon VHF.
In 3.30 SP i prefer the Ywing, from Kusari space, cause has a lot of cargo space and firepower, even it's less maneuvrable. And the Thunderbolt VHF from Earth cause of its strafing abilities and the fact it has 9 guns plus 1 turret.
I know about Slave1's and Ywing's problems in SP/MP, but i got better sur's form them in the next version.

Favorite Ships...Hmm Tough one because there are so many (all with their own strong and weak points) and I have not flown them all yet...

Fighters:
Raven's Claw - Heavy Armor, Many Weapon ponits (13 total I think)
Jedi T-Fighter - Only drawback, 1 torpedo slot
Whale - Low cost, fast, nimble - Drawback is cargo space

Capital Ships:
Tempest - Not as big as some, but easy to fly and manuever (my favorite way to trade cargo too)
Nagita - The smallest capital ship, but I can fly this like a light fighter
Javeline - Torps, Torps Torps Away...WooHoo

Traders:
Tempest - Why not trade with the speed and security of a cap ship?
FR8 Freelancer Special - Cause it's a truck
Fed Ex - Cause it makes me laugh...lol

Runner Ups:
As for the Firespray (Slave 1 or the Incredible Flying Egg), great ship once u get used to its 'Egg' shape. Tie Defender becuase of the Cockpit View. Ghost, the smallest and fastest ship and has 3 Torp Slots! Viper - Fast and laser torps are great. Longsword Bomber with nomad torps - Swoop and attack! Dagger Xr Prototype - Only issue is the missing weps.

Dislikes:
Enterprise - slow turning, not many weapon slots. Leviathan and Damocles - Just too big for me. Cyclone - blah and slow. Brakari Heavy Cruiser - flys on it's side and very little cargo for its size.

Ya know...I Installed this patch 3 times and it did not work...After seeing your post, I thought why not and Wallah! It works...K - Put the Dagger right up there as a favorite!

My fave is the Star Wars B-wing good all around and hard to hit head-on in a joust. I have a love/hate relationship with the sabre XR, i meen it is the bomb and all but WAY to many people use it on the server i am on. i still use it in sp.

and hated ship is the enterprise, Kirk would be ashamed of that thing.

I have 2 faves

Milennium falcon, dang nice ship for light trading and for heavy a** kicking, a little on the unmaneuverable side tho :/

TIE X-1.....TIE guns are freaking powerful for their class, 2 torp mounts, and...well *feels like an idiot* it makes me want to say "I have you now!!!" every time i get some corsair oaf in my sights

My fav is the centurion from privateer 1.

Hate? no ship that I really do not like!

Just wondering if there is a version of this mod WITHOUT all the ships that don't belong in the Freelancer "universe" (i.e Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, etc.)?

Seems like a great mod but really don't wish to add all those ships that sorta don't belong with the premise of the game.

I wouldn't think that there are any versions like that; I was under the impression that the big variety of ships was meant to add to the mod. Being able to pilot and/or fight against X-wings, TIEs, Battleaxes, and other ships from various great games in the comfort of a FL control style/universe was (and still is) pretty cool for me.
But MD would know for sure, since he's the go-to man. There might be a way to remove those ships if you really don't want them in the game, but again, I can't tell you how to do that - someone with more experience will have to.

Got a new fave, the Hawkeye MKII i think it is called, in Iowa. Lots of big guns loads of cargo and the 3 count them 3 class 10 shields are the bomb of bombs. Beware pirate scum.
