OK FINALLY! You are haveing the same problem as me I believe. Tell me, when you are playing and you press enter to chat.. does DEBUG show in fornt of chat commands on your screen? Cause mine does this as well.. and I ran into one other on the net that also said hes did this. I was starting to think I was the only one. If someone else has this problem please speak up! If enough people experience this then it will earn merit to be addressed by MD and hopefully searched out and fixed.

I have this same problem on my LAN server

Have not done anything in MP due to this disfunction. All recent were aborted shortly after starting & seeing no text & no rumors in converstations. Nearly completed SP w/previous release but missing RUMORS was bummer.
I was considering using this for a server but missing text has precluded such.

Space Eagle.. I can assure you of one thing.. this error is NOT server side and had you started a server it would be absolutely perfectly fine! And, furthermore it is not the mod that causes it , it is something in freelancer and the way it reacts on your computer (and mine). WHat OS do you use? Are you useing a cd image file or crack or the cd? What kind of video card and video memory do you have? These things all matter. Like I said, even though it only happens with the mod running, it is not the mods fault entirely, it is your computer or something in or about your computer or your freelancer install or method of install... there are very few getting such an error and me and you are just a some of the very few. But you cannot blame the mod or maker for this because there is nothing he can do about it.

Fresh install.. no cracks. Missing text occurs only when THIS Mod is installed. So I hardly think it's the computer. I have 20 computers on this lan and all of them that run Freelancer with this mod has this bug. Something is wrong with the mod.

Yes, I have 3 computers on lan (not as many as you ofcourse) and mine all do it to. But the fact remains that not many others experience this. So, what could be the problem... yes its only this mod but... what OS you have ? XP? ME? 9x? I really have no idea if i did then I wouldn't have this problem still. I have 98se on two of these, and ME on the other. But, I wonder, could it be some strange firewall problem? NO way impossible right? But I have a router. My friend who does not used my cd and has same comp almost and does not get this problem... Its exremely baffling I know.

OK. The NO TEXT occurs irregadless of MP OR SP. I have it both times.

In regards to specifications: PII 900, 512M RAM, ATI Radeon 64M using latest 7200 drivers as that is all available & works WIN98SE. Installation, as stated, is new from CD & playing from CD NO CRACK . Leagal & proper installation & ownership.

And this has occured from the ORIGIANL RE version to the present . Furthermore, this has been & seems to be the ONLY MOD with this disfunction. Ergo, the only logical conclusion is that there is something within this MOD which causes it.

My machines all run ME... pre XP machines might be the issue.. I wonder if we are missing a file someplace that XP has...

I used to have missing text with all the rumors also. I have not checked if that error still exists though. It was actually bad enough to the point that pushing the multiplayer button produced a blank window with blank buttons. I just had to memorize which window was which.

Laser, thats the exact thing I have, no buttons, and its like that in MP chat window as well!

Strangely, the windows for multiplayer started displaying text again for me. I noticed this after I switched to windows 2000 from 98. I don't know if it was direct cause and effect or just a coincidence. It just happened to be when I noticed.
