Rebalance Issues

First of all this is a great mod. I do have some problems with it though... Some of the ships are not there. They are listed at the ship dealer but there is no ship on the floor. when I buy the invisable ship and go to eather to the equepment dealer or out to space, the game crashes. Wouldn't mind so much but I want that level 10 fraighter and that is one of the ships in question. any help appreciated.

yeap know the problem.

What we need to do is copy all the starwars and babylon folders under data/ships in the mod section to the freelancer/data/ships folder.

solves the problem

Thanks for the reply, But can you be more specific? I used FLMM to install it (I'm an idiot when it comes to modding). And as far as I know I never had the babylon ships, unless they came with the mod... Hope I don't sound too stupid here.

always download the porsche and rebalance mod together.

unzip them and put the files in the specified folders in your fl directory..

otherwise use FLMM (which doesn't seem to work on my pc)

I thought that all the porshe ships came with rebalance???

O.K. I downloaded the whitestar and put it in the dats/ships folder but still no luck. am I putting it in the right place? I have a .mat and a .cmp. where exactly do they go? I searched the edditing forum for the answer but the sight with the tutorial is down. please help!!!

Going through the single player mission right now with the Rebalance Mod and I'm on the mission where you hook up with Walkers battleship group outside CA minor and you have to protect the outpost from the rhineland gunships. Here's the problem after the fleet and following gunships with torpedoes are defeated the game doesn't progress any further. All the ships just freeze in position. I can't hail any of them or even dock with anything(IE TradeLanes, Planets, etc..). If I shoot at Juni or any of the other NPC ships after a short time I get the message that the mission failed because I fired on a friendly. I noticed that all of the other NPC ships will still take damage when you fire on them but Walkers ship does not. It's as if the game is waiting for his ship to do something but it's caught in some kind of loop. Has anyone else run into this problem during that mission? And does anyone know how to fix it?

think thats the sound bug - the sound file that triggers the rheinland ships to go hostile dont work and you end up stuck.
the best thing is to get the correct sound driver off the freelancer disk and install it ( cant remember which one it is but a forum search will definately tell you) i think its l3codeca.acm but i could be wrong
it might even be mentioned in the read me for freelancer if memory serves.
the workaround is to ram the ships instead of shooting them - not my choice but some people have done it.

That's weird as I've run through the single player campaign twice before and have never had that problem. It only happened after I installed the Rebalance Mod and started a new campaign. I'll give your suggestion a try though I found the thread "easier fix for sound problem" hopefully something in there will work.

Well got through the mission by flying to the waypoint under thrusters only. Then I just hung back while the other ships took out the Rhienlaners. Juni went through her spiel and I finally got paid. I really think something is wrong though as the dialogue from Walker doesn't match with what was going on in the game and the 3 Rhineland Bombers with Torpedoes appeared after the mission was a success. Luckily I didn't fire on them as they turned white in the middle of the fight. Ah well perhaps this is just another way of working around the sound problem.

Mmm I got one for ya: Whenever I try to launch, OR land, the game crashes. Any ideas? Yes I d/l'd porche's ship pack, and yes I sold everthing and bought it back up to make sure it was compatible, even started a new game, but when it comes time to dock back to base, boom, it crashes. Any ideas?

Erm, not sure that you have to download porchse ship pack anymore. Take a looko at the DATE on those posts- they are 10 months old. I am pretty bloody sure that the ships are in their already
