FL: Next Generation Bugs and Problems TOPIC

Hello Everyone.
I work for the Next Generation MOD. I am an ini editor and will be creating systems for TNG. Our team wishes to give our sincerest Apologies for the bugs that have been found with the mod. We are trying fix these as quickly AS POSSIBLE (with as much time as we have possible to work on the mod). I would like everyone to post problems they have found (I dont want complaints like the gravity well should spin in the other direction) We want to fix bug and problems ASAP so everyone can enjoy the mod more. Things i NEED for you to include in your post...
1. Be specific, dont say it crashed when i bought something, tell us what it was.
2.Try to remember anything you did before it crashed

If you can do this it will help us improve TNG to be better than it is now!
If you post it at www.planetirg.net we will be able to work on it faster. Why? because we have a forum for posting bugs on our site and we check it more than here.

First I do want to express my appreciation for the NG mod. There are two bugs I have found so far. Both occurred in Single Player.

Leaving Detroit after accepting a random mission I was launched into the long corridor joining the two ends of the station. To get out I had to destroy the station. I was flying a Tie Interceptor.

The second concerns the Nexus System. I was in New York and got called back by Juni for Mission 2. While on the way to meet her, I decided to take a quick detour to the Nexus. During the docking animation the game crashed to desktop. The waypoint at the time was still on Manhatten.

Again great work on the mod - so far a lot of fun.

Hmmm I joined a server and tried to dock with Detroit (doing nothing except FLY to Detroit) as I docked I got loading then crash to desktop.

I have the exact same problems as integrabob but in a millenium falcon instead

in single player


1. Equipment dealers don't have any items for sale.

2. There is no docking sequence when i dock to bases/ships, the loading screen just pops up.

3. When leaving a station all i see is the wall of the hanger.


Is there a way to totally skip the single player missions in this mod? I think it would be cool to just let single players run free right from the begining.

When you go on missions and reach the mission waypoint, the enemy ships do not move. They just sit in space to be picked off like so many helpless fish in a barrel. I have had this occur on three seperate server sessions. This has happened in NY and other areas that I can not recall at this time.

When inquiring about a bribe there is no referance made to the factions. Neither the one you would be improving your rep with nor the one(s) that you would be deteriating. There is a price listed, but no factions names. This has occured 4 seperate times within 2 seperate server sessions. 2 occured at Freeemans.

I can confirm the detroit munitions bug. After mission 2 I flew to Detroit munisions. After accepting a mission I was unable to launch into space. Ship was stuck in a corridor with no exits.

In Single player

The Tie Fighter model does not show during landings/dockings/in the ship dealer, basically it's invisable everywhere except when you are actually flying it. All you see the 3 guns and the engine glow.

During gameplay the intersystem jump gates are invisable

I was fighting some invisable pirate ships today, i think the ship was called a "Soulhunter"

None of the baes except manhatten seel anything!! this is incredibally anoying as evrytime you purchase a newer vessel you have to return to manhatten to equip newer weaponary!

After King says "lambda 4 is down" on the mission where you have to get out of liberty it crashes to desktop, Ithink it is mission 5 and I am syill in the millenium falcon

i was cruisin to the corsair home world and stoped at a aome places along the way and found out that these places don't have any equipment for sale

Tripoli Shipyard
Freeport 5
Planet New Berlin
Planet Crete
and the base near freeport 5


also the slave ship (heavy) when your just flyin around u can't see the ship

I'm experiencing the same as Sentinel84. Mission 4 when you arrive at Westpoint the game crashes to desktop when King say Lamba 4 has gone down. Tried the mission after buying new weapons on Manahtten (after cut sceen obviously) and when not, same response.

I have experienced problems when i was in the Nexus system, i was trying to enter the freemans jumphole and the cinematic started, but i wasn't going through it. It was just stuck, i was in a Rhienland Battleship from Norfolk Shipyard at the time.

Also when i was at the freemans base, just outside, me and a mate was shooting it out and crashed the server when he blew me up with the anti matter torpedoes. It only happened when he killed me, but not when i killed him, and i also used anti matter torpedoes. We didn't blow the freemans base up, and there wasn't anyone docked inside either.

I had the slave ship, but like the other person in this thread, couldn't see the ship in external mode, was just invisible, the cockpit view worked ok, and so did turret view, that was fine.

I was in the colarado system, at planet denver i think, and i wanted to dock, but there was a huge freighter trying to dock (AI Bot), but he was just spinning (rotating) in the docking ring, so i and anyone else was unable to dock untill i blew him up and everyone became hostile.

I also have a couple of suggestions......

We could do with equipment being sold at more locations, and i'd like to see a new system for the Arena, the Arena thing is a great idea, kudos to ya.

check this out ...

We my Clan have a open T-1 Server which we are going to convert to your mod fully but we cannot make a move until major multiplayer bugs get sorted out.

some of the jump holes in omicron major crash out server and also certain items are missing according to the server log.

hpdocklights01 and 02 + all the rest of the above errors.

Please get back to me via email to fill us all out on whats happening next.

Like i already said we have a very steady T-1 lined up and ready to go just your mod to get sorted out and by the way its looking awesome.
