Sorry to the aussies. The good news is that because we have at least one person down there with you (Duriel) we are considering holding a second chat the next day thats more appropriate for you.

Heck I organised the thing and tried to make it okay for everyone - even putting it at 1am my time!

Aren't we lucky Aussies! It was very generous of Squall Loire and thank him for trying to fit everyone in. There should be a second chat. When it is confirmed we will see who can make it and then Squall will tell yas. I will definetly be there!

Arr! I don't have IRC here
Anyway, I guess I've got the gist of it if I read that FAQ Lancers Reactor mentions, don't I?
What I was wondering and the FAQ doesn't go into is the following:
You guys want to expand the current Freelancer into something that retains the general setting but adds what you felt it needs to offer a more complete, lasting experience for both SP and MP (correct me if I'm wrong). At the same time you're introducing ships and possibly other elements from a broad range of other sf universes (Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon, etc.). Aren't you afraid that might in a way lessen the experience for some players, as it somewhat breaks the setting? Or are you taking steps to 'assimilate' those elements, making them feel like a natural part of the Freelancer universe? More to the point, what are your plans to assure consistency between the original game and your enhancements as well as between individual additions?

hm. I will forward that question to the team and add it to the FAQ when its answered, but in the meantime I'll just suggest that with all this experimentation with jumpholes, something went wrong and merged all these universes.
