force-feedback technology basically allows the controls to shake with explosions on the screen.
The whole idea is that if an explosion happens on the left side of your ship (for example) and you try to turn that way, there will be a resistance felt through the joystick simulating the force of the explosion.
Not the best explanation but it gives the general idea. As for how good....the general consenus from those I know with them reckon it makes that sense of "living in the game" one step nearer

Nah, im not going tro buy a new joystick. i was so used to mine and it worked so well that im gonna try and fix it. besides, im to cheap to buy a new one... FORCE FEEDBACK SUCKS!! (it messes up my aim)

YES... yes, exactly... it messes up your aim... kinda like getting blasted by a missile! It adds a whole new sense to a videogame... TOUCH! Now all we gotta work on is smell and taste! I hear smell is on the way, actually (for real)... taste can't be far behind, but I'm sure I'll be cleaning my moniter more often!

lol. By the way, you spelled monitor wrong But what would you taste in a flight sim? Personally, I would not find getting a burger at the cafetereia all that interesting.

Anyway, I've got a really great story. One of my good friends was using his PS2, and he quite literally fried his controller. He had the controller in the one hand, and with the other he was reaching up to turn on a lamp. At the same time, his shoulder accidentally brushed the TV. At this point, a gigantic static charge came through his fingers like Emperor Palpatine, and the controller fried. Now it's perpetually pressing the "X" and "R" buttons. I would certainly give a game controller to be able to do that.

Lol its pressing by itself ?? well, too bad about ur joystick - i never used one b4. whats it like ? oh, actually, i used it once in this competition where they let me use a joystick in a racing game. *weird* force feedback sounds not too bad... the only game controller i have is the DDR pad (its this pad thing u dance on) i don't fancy jumping on those in SL :S
