Strafing?

I have a question for someone who know what they are talking about. What is the best way to use the strafe feature in SL? It seems kind of slow and ineffective to me, but im open to ideas so if anyone has any way to use it (i sure someone must) tell me. It seems like it has potential but i don't know exaclty how to bring it out.

strafe?? oh, along with the roll button - barrel roll -- i'm still practising, hope to master it. it can be used in head on fights against the sabers and such. go straight at their heads, they fire, u barrel roll, they lose aim, u fire at will, they die, ur safe. easy said, but in practice, its impossible for me yet. i dont have too many fingers. u have to maintain aim, and operate the barrel roll, and fire that the same time. just the strafe, i use it for precision attacks, like when i dont have missiles to take out the charges on the last mission. but other than that, i dont use it much.

I never used (and never will use) strafing. The barrol-roll is quite nice actually. I mastered it (not that hard to do) and it can come in handy.
