Keys do not function??

Hi everybody,

I have a special problem. I purchased the game some days ago. It's nice to play the story before freelancer.

But I cannot accelerate. I cannot speed my ship. The keys "´" and "+" do not function at all or so it seems. I tried to put in other keys instead. But the ship won't fly nevertheless.

The only way to fly is using the "y" key for flying with the same speed the target flies or using the afterburner. But the power is quickly gone then.

Does somebody have an idea? I really don't have one.

I can't say what's happened here... perhaps may even be a hardware fault. About all I can suggest is to restart your computer. My SL has run flawlessly for months, then just yesterday, I was in the middle of a critical engagement, and the afterburner command locked. I was stuck on afterburner for almost ninety seconds, with no way to disable it. I could fight again after I ran out of fuel, but had to spend the rest of the mission listening to calls of "afterburners exhausted" from the wonderful ship computer...

Are you using the keyboard? I had a problem like this when I reinstalled, then I remembered that it defaults to joystick control. Just go into the control options and select "keyboard only". Yeah, I know it sucks, one day I went a bit OTT with my joystick and wrenched it apart >.<

I also noticed, is it just me, or can you not use a mouse with this game?

Yup, its an old school space sim, joystick/keyboard only
