"You''re losing it, buddy."

Hehe. I noticed something weird...perhaps an Easter Egg of sorts... I tend to be a bit OCD/completist when I play games, and I've noticed if you rewatch the briefing for any reason, often during the "hallway scene" to the briefing room, the people will make the "crazy" finger-twirling gesture and either tell you you're crazy or you're losing it, buddy, etc. There are a few of these. hehe. Am I correct in when and why this happens? Or is it referring to something else... Did a search and doesn't seem like anyone else posted about this, so I dunno. =oP

I believe the reactions of your crewmates in the hallways is based on your performance in the previous mission(s). If you managed to barely pass, or had to eject (in which case you can often proceed to the next mission anyways), it seems like this is triggered. If you get a perfect on a very hard mission, or get promoted, the people in the hall will either congratulate or salute you. The reaction of everyone is somewhat different if you fire on friendlies, but I'll let you figure that out for yourself ;-)

Interesting. For me, it seems to ALWAYS happen if I reload the savegame. Not the first time after I start the game itself, but subsequent games. As an example, I go through the mission briefing the first time...I might get saluted in the hallway. If I want to hear the briefing again, I reload the save, and if I watch the hall scene, I usually get one of the "crazy" remarks. =oP

I've fired on a friendly to see what happened before and saw the...erm...consequences - cool cutscene. =oP Also ejected and got captured by an enemy before.

You say captured by an enemy? . I didn't know that was possible. All these times I've either been picked up by a nanny or shot up by some idiot NPC in a Sabre.

Yup. I ejected once just to see what would happen (and I can't remember what mission; but one of the early ones, though I'm not sure it matters). I *did* get picked up by a nanny, but a *COALITION* nanny! And then there's a cutscene.

I've never been picked up by a friendly one; I dunno if there's a cutscene for that or not (assumed not, but lemme know if there is and I'll try it - hehe). I've never been shot up by a sabre either. I'll have to try that stuff.

Yes, you can be picked up by Alliance nannys. All that happens is that you get stuffed back to your bunk, and read the debriefing. They yell at you for getting shot down, but they're glad you're alive, etc etc. You then get to skip the mission you got shot down in and go onto the next one.

Next time you get nabbed up by the coalition, you might want to post a screenie ;-)

I don't eject often, but I can try if I see it again. hehe. It's not long or anything either. It's just quite clear you're captured by the enemy and in deep trouble. =oP I'll have to see if I can get the Alliance one.

Whoah - if you leave the ship and eject right away =oP, you're picked up by a nanny and dishonorably discharged by the Cap'n. Not sure if you've seen that one? (Well, they don't call it that...he says something like taken off of flight duty and transferred elsewhere, but same difference.)

If you fail too many missions (or eject during them), you get the same video of "reassignment". Kind of ironic that they can do that when the Alliance is desperately short of pilots in a very tenuous war...

Edit-
I've gotten the reassign for early eject, but still haven't gotten enemy capture. I even tried ejecting next to the only Coalition Antonov (nanny) that you encounter! I was picked up by an Alliance one in the heat of battle anyways.

*gasp*

A Starlancer discussion!

I love the cutscenes, I did particularly well on one mission and got promoted for the second mission in a row. All your comrades start bowing to you and clapping in the corridor (on the Yamato), its great. I also like that technician guy who gets electrocuted. It happens on the Reliant and the Yamato, and on the Yamato you can hear him say "Jeez, thanks for stopping!"

@Taw- Never eject? I suppose it's part of the Tawalkanistan warrior philosophy to sacrifice yourself to kill a few more of the Russian enemies. Or, at least, it gets rid of Moose. Ejections almost never end favorably, though at least they let you skip the mission. Not something you'd find in any ol' game.

actually I always wanted to fight for the Coalition the Tigris Confederacy always appealed to me. Can't think why!

I still haven't seen that cutscene again either, but I swear it really happened! I'll see if I can duplicate it. (I don't eject much when playing, but on occasion).
