Joystick configuration

I recently installed the starlancer demo for kicks, and while I was very impressed with it, especially for its age, one thing threw me: the joystick configuration. I was anticipating standard flight-sim controls where the 'z-axis' (rudder/ twist control on Sidewinder precision 2) handles yaw side to side, and the 'x-axis' (left right) handles roll. However, in Starlancer, these are reversed, and it makes control of the ship, especially in combat very difficult for me, as I have grown up with traditional flightsim style for some time. Although I adapted after a while, it still remains difficult. Is there a way to reverse this and configure the joystick axises (sp?) for custom roles?

I have no idea how you even got that setup - I use a Saitek with a twistable axis and it configures just fine for Starlancer.

That being said - there's no way to configure the Joystick axis in Starlancer, nor is there a way to configure the HAT (Which has annoyed me all end) if you have one on your stick.

JDawg, I have the opposite feeling when I play a game that steers the ship via twisting the stick. I guess each to their own. I don't think you can remap this in SL, but I'll give it a shot later when I have some time and report back.

Thanks anyway guys. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.

That one's been on my mind for a while now...I tried everything I could think of and eventually decided to just give up and adapt to the default Y and Z mappings. If someone does figure it out, please do tell.

Of course, there are ways to reverse the X and Y on the joystick outside the game, so that could work...but you'd have to remember to change it back after playing.

Would it be possible to intentionally miscalibrate it to get the desired result?
