Does anyone have a solution....

I can't seem to keep Starlancer running for more then approx. 30 minutes in Windows XP. Any Ideas?

yeah. right click on the SL icon on your desktop. go to properties. go to compatibility. now switch it to Windows 98. you should be good to go.

I wouldn't bother changing the compatability mode. Starlancer works fine here on stock under XP, but saying that it may work for you.

What I would do is the following...

1) Turn off 3d sound completely in the Starlancer Options, then exit the program.
2) Go into Control Panel/Sounds&Multimedia/The Audio Tab/ and click the Advanced button.
3) Then select the Performance Tab and move the Hardware Acceleration Slider one notch to the left of Full (This will not allow any non-standard Dx calls to be made to your Sound Card, as your Sound Card may only be able to handle standard Dx calls - hence the crashes when it gets a non-standard Dx call).
4) Reboot your computer and fire up Starlancer.
