Communications, does it do a whole lot?

Asking the status of a wingman or telling him to get his act together, or even taunting the opponent, does this affect anything in game at all?

Also, anyone know how to get an editor and extract/import the models and new stuff into the game?
Mission editor?
I work on mods in BF1942 and think I could work on this game (love the flight stick space mods) well.
BTW, is Freelancer at all like this one and is it good? I love flying with the stick and having complex controls that give you more skills the more you learn them.
Thanks

I don't think it does anyting. I taunt opponents and they don't seem to do anything different. I think it was just included in the game to give it a little "flavor".

I think that you're supposed to be able to taunt enemies into attacking you rather than Gamma gy yelling "You and me - one on one" or whatever. Personally, I can rarely remember which key to press. If a button doesn't target something, fire something or make me go faster I tend to forget where it is.
