---:::StarLancer:::---

I know not many people play StarLancer, but I still do sometimes, and in the Spirit of the FreeLancer topic:

I think StarLancer rox0rz:
It has over a dozen customizable and unique fighters.
Several different types of weapons each with their pros and cons.
An excellent battle system (far better than FreeLancer).
And...best of all...Joystick Compatility!!! .
So if you still play StarLancer, good for you. If you stopped, brush off the CD and give it another go. If you haven't played StarLancer at all, go buy it (real cheap, I've heard $2-5 now).

100% agreed.

Light is faster than sound. It is for this reason that some people seem bright until you hear them talk.

The best part: missions that you can fail and NOT get a game over for...

"Although I do not consider myself a member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, I find that their goals and mine often follow the same path. I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.

Erm...what? Who said it didn't?

I picked up a copy of SL about a month ago second hand, and I have since completed it on two non-consecutive occasions. The thing is though, that I find some of the missions a little repititious. You know the Torpedo shooting? There was too much of it in my opinion, still it was unavoidable. It's funny, I have wanted to play SL since it came out, but it took me this long to get it. Just think, if I had purchased it when i first came out, I would probably have found TLR much earlier.

I wish I had found TLR a lot earlier. I got SL when it came out and didnt find this site until after I got FL. As for the torpedo shooting, I always used blind fire so it was easy enough for me. Too bad you couldn't mix blind fire with full fire though .

I do think starlancer is sometimes even better than freelancer, especially the ship design...and that for (i bought it for 5 euro)

I have both Starlancer and Freelancer, i play freelanceer a bit more only because starlancer has too many controls, with EMP and changing missles and thrusters it make my head explode. Freelancer is simpler. No offense to Starlancer, its an asowme game, just faarrr too many controls

I like don’t use all the controls. I don't use the power ball or anything else I don't thinks essential. It means I’m not as effective but I find it easier.

I only use the powerball when I fly a Grendal (i.e. not very often). If I need more speed I hit the burners. Shields low? Thats what Spectral shields are for and afterburners get you out of trouble too. Low on gun energy? Use screamers but my favourite ships (Crusader and Mirage) have very high gun recharge rates. In combat you don't have time to mess about with the powerball!

Ban REVERSE THRUST! Fly something other than a phoenix for a change!

I replied SL for 6 times, and only once (the first time) checked the powerball to what it's about. Actually, I only remembered about it when reading the posts

$1.75 in the states, and it's worth every penny. I just like walking arround the rooms, too bad you can't visit the other areas of the ship though. --- VH16

I always adjust the powerball. thrust and guns, no shields. shields are for girls. if you fly well enough you don't need shields.
