How do YOU fight? (Style)

I am close up and personal, several times I finish the kills by ramming the opponent.
Dogfighting deluxe in other words, how do you do it? Long range standoff?

Both. Usually I pick the nearest target, finish it off, then next, etc. Blowing a fighter from close up is always fun.

Both for me too

In close - don't waste precious gun energy on a shot that might miss - and, with a few exceptions, full guns. Best ships for the job? Those with concentrated firepower in the nose or close in to the fuselage. The mirage is good, 'cause the neutron cannon are very close to the sight-line. The Tempest's tachyon cannon are almost useless - too many shots go either side ot the target. The Wolverine is fun but too sluggish for my taste and I won't fly a phoenix on principle! My favourite is the Crusader with an extra pair of laser cannon on two of the missile pads courtesy of the SL edit tool. ;-)

To quote a book I have read "With hate in my heart"
ok, in the early missions, guns and screamers. Later missions, guns for that personal touch, missiles and guns when time is important.

i'm kinda lazy, so i pick a phoenix, pick off near ones (30k) with the beam thing
the further ones are gunned down.. if they get annoying.. just burn and ram them down.

Jackhammer. Nothing's quite as sweet as nailing a fighter with one of those bad boys.

I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. Hell, they were even so kind as to sell me a ship after one of my jobs with them, and I've been flying her ever since. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.

I go for the biggest ship and shoot the hell out of it with screamers and jackhammers. Tally Ho, old chaps! Remember, you're never too young to die!

Is this SP or MP?

In SP I go for nearest thing and blow it to Hell, with either guns (if fighter) or missile (if kurgan etc)

in MP I go head to head strafing and firing, that way they get blown to dust and I dont get hit, works best with blind fire but I dont like that thing.

I always found MP (non - co-operative, that is!) a bit boring because there really was no point flying anything other than a Phoenix or, possibly, a Shroud) - hence my sig.!
I'm not keen on deathmatch games either. I like multiplayer games to have an objective.

depends ... regular play get in a predator and go after the nerest target .. being 300k or 10k dosent mater to me .. they all die the same ... now if iv changed afew things like oh say a pred that gos 2000 with hawks that never miss then you just do thesame thing but kill more in less time

Post Tue Oct 14, 2003 8:30 am

Well there are many Nagi fighters out there that can kick Shroud and Phoenix's butt! and some wolvies believe it or not. I know someone who flies a pred better than I can fly a Shroud, which is hard.

Never lost to a Wolverine one-on-one. Even with reverse thrust it's just a flying tank! ;-)

hehe, not this guy, he is only Wolvie pilot who gives even aces a run for the money, (by aces I mean : OPR8R, HellFire Skorpion, now known as EXECTR, and Maybe even Dev, but I doubt he can against Dev.)

You may be supprised how good he is. Only wolvie pilot I cant beet so far

I hate the Jackhammers for dogfights. I fly behind them and pump 'em with lasers and dumbfires!
