How to avoid comp crash??

Ok... I am at mission 22 and now I have to help raiding a coalition base for resources. The sattelites are no prob, altough I just can't seem to get them down in 1 min... The sattelite dish, turrets, cargobay doors and the fighters are no prob either...

However, after u have taken all that down, several Azan's (from the "Golden Sun" squad I believe) jump in. No prob in taking them down, but everytime when 1 certain ship of them explodes, the game crashes when u hear his scream. I have tryd it a million times over and over again but it keeps crashing...

Any idea what I can do to prevent that?? PLZ help me if u can

I've heard that turning of the EAX option could solve that type of crash.
Unfortunately I've not experienced that yet.

euh... even with 3D-sound options to none I still get the crash, so I'm afraid that's not the problem...

thanks anyway.... If anyone has another idea plz answer

I know it's waaaaaayyyyy past, but what sound card are u using? I had the same problem, it's related to audio acceleration. if ur s/c isn't fully EAX then even turning 3d sound off in SL won't help. u have to go into ur multimedia properties and turn off sudio acceleration there. or change ur sound card. it shouldn't happen on current sound card chipsets. once i got rid of my pci128 and put an Live or an Audigy in, it doesn't happen.

I've had that problem with a Live! but turning of EAX should fix it up.

There might be something corrupt in your StarLancer directory. Try a re-installation and back up the saved games.
