It runs fine on my XP, without any patch (not to claim that there is any ) without compatibility mode.

Welcome! I've heard that sometimes problems with XP arise, though in the majority of cases they can be corrected by turning off EAX.

Got me on both counts, just think urself luck you aren't effected like mine is. I have to play solo cause my boyz are about 2.5 times faster than i in space mode......wayyyyy faster in tradelanes and my voices finish normally but the cinematic takes FOREVER to finish and its a slow mo 10 min ride through a Juni speech or something stupid like that and i'm left growing beard hair waiting for the esc button to have an effect. I'M SICK OF THIS CRAP and a new mobo better help but i saw faq's saying others have this issue and that some guys have alienwares class systems and are having this flight/cinematic speed issues.

So count them cards dude cause the dealings done and you don't have the worst hand you could have.
