SL is a cool space sim. You play on the side of the Alliance forged of Germans, Americans, British, Japanese, French, Italians etc. against the Coalition of Russians, Koreans, different Arabs and stuff. If you don't mind political connotations, it's an absolutely cool game, where you not only engage in dogfighting, but also provide convoy escort, participate in saboteur actions, provide anti-torp defense, etc. The game is really worth a shot, especially that it's cheap - for all I've heard, you can get it for ca. 2 bucks.
And, welcome to TLR, BTW!

China is in the Coalition, but Korea is still unknown....

I thought the Red Dragon (the one-eyed guy) was Korean. Well, you kill him afterwards, so it doesn't matter much

On TLR Starlancer Pilot Guide, it says that Red Dragon is from the East Asian Federation.

Japan are in the Western Alliance (your side)

Cool... I assume this is available at standard software game shops and whatnot?

Where are you?

People will be able to help you out with finding a copy of Starlancer, if they know where you are from

I'm in Washington State, on the coast (Olympia).

SL is a couple years old right? I don't think you'll find it at a Software shop these days.
SL is prequel to FL right? I think so anyway my point is you probaly won't find it

I think you will if you want to. You can try online shops, you can contact PC game stores or friends. Thare are ways. And it's really worth the shot.

At $5, you can't go wrong. And it's a great game. Fun to beat up on "them commie reds!". Multiplay is sorta vacant though.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

what system is sl for?

Post Thu May 29, 2003 7:45 am

ahh.. long time no back..
SL rules btw,
definitely worth a shot. but kinda limited. it'd be great if they could combine the SL fighting interface with the FL storyline and its infiniteness.

Science is knowledge.
Knowledge is power.
Time is money.
power = work/time
therefore, knowledge= work/money
therefore, money = work/knowledge
therefore, money is inversely proportional to knowledge.

therefore,

The more knowledge you have, the less money you have.

Prepare for the worst, for you have read the worst.

@randomhero: not sure if I understand you correctly. If you're speaking about the setting, then it's in the Sol system. If about computer, so it's for PC (although I've heard there's a version for DC). I have it running on Win 95, on a weak computer (366 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 8 MB video memory). Anyway, you should get the answer from an expert soon.
