Does anyone get the problem that it crashes when you try to launch from manhatten it starts loading then all of a sudden it closes and says it's crashed

never mind the ship works good now but after i modded it to improve steering so its quick i launched from manhattan and it started going insane on me i couldn't control it and it was vibrating so badly also any way you could make this thing work online that woulde be great

Hey guys, i found a big problem in all this editing...

in the market ships ini, how can i find out what is which base and which base is what??????????
cause i don't want liberties to sell this ship....<-
and how can i recompress the inis? do i need to do that?
or just replace the old ones?
or can i just "add" the new inis?

How can I change the name of a ship? where is a list with this numbers? i want to add my own names<-

i don't find any guides telling me the codes of the bases...

I can't believe you haven't found it...

Try looking in this sticky thread,

Compilation of ALL IDS names, Mod Info, Tutorials, INI explination -- Read first!

if you can't find that then you need alot more help then we can give you...it has all the information you need.

To make your own name and ships is NOT an easy process and you need to modify about 6 files plus some DLL to make your own names and ships.

I would stick to modifying existing ones until you get a bit more advanced friend.

I installed the Osiris mod and checked it like 5 times. In single it is awesome.
in multi, though, as soon as I buy a ship and trying to leave the planet - my connection is lost. I have a suspision that it crashes the server, but I am not sure. After this I cannot connect to the same server for quite a while. Usually, I have to restart freelancer and possibly the computer.
I have tried modifying INI manually and automatically using Mod Manager.
I have also tried different servers. But the result is always the same.

Any ideas?

The server must be running the exact same mod just like any other game or things start crashing. Try joining a Day of Defeat game using the Counter Strike mod and see what happens(of course you can't because it doesn't show up, but for a good reason)

In case of a latter, than, no, FReelancer is different from HL and any other game and you CAN do a lot of stuff on the client.

...the admin of the server you tried was not amused, his server crashed atm you launched. Imho the game handles players on planets only client-side, atm you launch your client sends the info about your ship/cargo etc to the server (this makes sense since the planet/base thingy has no player interaction). So when you try to use a mod which is not running on the server and buy something the server does not know (e.g. a battleship or cruiser or commodities or weapons), both the server and the client will crash....

so: Don't do this!

Err...
Great mod! I loved piloting the Osiris and swatting enemies with its cannons
However, I'm stuck...=P

I can't dock with the Missouri..it looks like two battleships crashing together =P
What can I do to solve this problem?
