It''s finally here! changing pilot voice files in the .utf f

I have just registered on 4th August 2007 to the lancersreactor forums, my main reason is to begin posting full answers the best I can to queries which appear to have been partly answered and I have worked out already.

From what I gather of changing .utf files in audio folder. People want to change voice files of pilots and hear different things when they hail pilots during flight in space.

I have discovered the method just around..... 4 months ago. No offense, but I just realized this topic has been in question for around after browing......2 years I think! Judging by how long the posts on the topic has been sitting there. I apologize for the incovenience of waiting so long until the answer.

But 2- 3 years ago? Has someone else found out and posted it on the tutorials already, because it's this long time I am sure people can mod far more effieciently than me. Please reply if there is already a tutorial, and show me so I can have a look and make any possible recommendations or if there isn't, notify me so I will quicky finish the 82% complete tutorial I am finalizing ready for public use

Cold_void, I prefer to be more considerate of other people, if someone else has got the tutorial on, I don't want to be accussed of stealing their work or credit

if you have information, dont conceal it, give it out, dont ya think FL is dying enough as it is, last thing we need are people with holding information

Okay, I will post all of everything I have found out.

I promise, I have not copied this method from anybody, other than that I have used CRC tool Beta 2 and utf editor to successfully perform this method. My tutorial is currently in a word document. I will try and get it up, otherwise I will type everything in the form of posts. It has a lot of pictures to guide, not sure how to handle it.

It is now exists as a new thread, which is name 'PILOT.UTF FILES NOW EFFICIENTLY EDITABLE'

This is the link to the lancersreactor.com forums Linky

Edit - Made the link clickable

Forgive me Final Day, somethings that I just am so absent minded of

About 3 years ago Quickshot provided a "how to make custom voices appear in game" - or how to change existing.

Only problem is that his site disappeared I think, or certainly the tutorial - so it's kind of been "lost" as no-one bothered to notice at the time (including me, had other things to work on than voices - but I had read his tutorial ).

Haven't read your tutorial, but it's always good to have holes filled up with knowledge - many thanks

Yeah go ahead, see whether it's making benefit and I will edit it if some things have to.

I have mailed a request to the site to have it announced on news directing people interested in it to go there straight away. A link on that news announcement would be good too.

Hope you like it and that it helps.

And errr if that Quick... (what was his name?) is not too happy, tell me but by that time, I don't know, people may want me to leave it there.

Send me some feedback please Chips

Quickshot hasn't been around for years mate, and he wouldn't worry either - he was very open source.

However, that doesn't matter - you worked out how to do it by yourself, and are sharing it - so kudos

That is great to hear, I certainly will appreciate people benefitting to what I have got to share. But chips, something funny has happened, before I could not access this thread and it wasn't in the editing tutorial forum. Now I can, but my tutorial thread I have posted I cannot see either.

Judging by what I have seen, the tutorial I have made is likely still accessible by anybody visiting and is still there, but I can't access it. I have new information to add but I don't want to make a nuisance making two threads on one topic.

The tutorial in .pdf file is now confirmed available on this site for download.

Here is the link guys, it's even on the news of lancersreactor.com homepage thanks to final day!

Happy english lessons for all the pilots, perhaps even speak into a microphone on your computer, record what you said in .wav format and implement it into freelancer. Hear yourself talk!!

I am very delighted and pleased finalday! Thank you

Better yet (for those Star Trek fans) an entire base owned by Klingons. All messages in klingon, lol.

I have another idea:

Import sneezing sounds so you hear the pilots sneeze!

That will be best when you pester them with your hailing after they finish talking to you

hahahahahahaha

StarTrader, If you have come back here the link now works on the other thread which is 'PILOT.UTF FILES NOW EFFICIENTLY EDITABLE'

As of this day on Wednesday August 22nd, this thread will no longer be the official source to provide information, please use the other thread above, a link for it is provided below.

It would be inconvenient for people to look in two places for information, so I won't be posting much in this thread anymore.

People are still welcome to come back here and read past posts in this thread, otherwise to continue getting more, please use the link as it will be the main source and place to discuss voice modifications

Link to Thread "PILOT.UTF files now efficiently editable

I have tested the link myself, it has successfully linked me to the PILOT.UTF thread page. Please don't get too worried Finalday, I am sure it works properly and that you won't have to put my silly mistakes back together . Thanks for checking too!!

Everybody reading this message please do not post any replies here at all anymore. Please place it in the other thread which is accessed from the link provided near to top of this reply

I don't want anybody to be posting requests for help here because I won't be looking at this thread.

I don't intend to delete this thread, I don't intend to remove it, I will leave it here for people to read all the past information in this whole thread that have been posted
