**Tutorial** - Appearance of fields on nav maps (property fl

mh during my editing i wondered what are these damn property flags ...
here a short preview of what i found out:

it should help you so u can mix up different types of asteroid and nebulas

okay the billboards entry in the nebula or asteroid file is not really necessary for the display on the navmap ... only the PROPERTY FLAGS.

so later i'll post some pics for each asteroid type that you exactly know how it looks

Property Flags:

32768 = Nebula Type
if u set this one ... your zone will have the outer appearance on the navmap like a nebula for this u need a set property_fog_color to a color you like ... what about pink ?

2049//258 = Ice Asteroid Type
this will make a asteroid field (don't know if it works with nebula too but it should) look like ice asteroid billboards ...like whitney ice field

512 = Lava Rocks
mh ... yes lava rocks

130 = Debris Type
remember the pittsburgh debris field on the map ... yes that way

66 = Rock Type
... looks like average big rocks on the map, you know?

0 = Invisible
... if u move your mouse over the name of the field will appear ...
i really got nothing that makes them completely vanish ... except some combinations like the tahoe ice cloud but i didn't got it yet

mh i think i forgot one type ...mh

the prop_flags are mixed up ... i try to get a system but ... think you can only get this on christmas ... cause they are mixed up ... why can't they make dual intervals? ...i can give my list to you but ... mh there are a lot of exceptions and only the border numbers are tested.

need more? ... if yes i'll upload more data to your neuralnet later
he ahrg i'm crazy

128 makes them totalöly disappear on the map. No name, no visual, nothing. It cvan be used on any object actually, so if you want to put something there that does not show up on the map put 128 as property flag (not only zones!). Making them non targetable in solararch.ini also prevents you from selecting it in space, so that they are complete scenery.

Bumping this thread in hopes that more information about property flags has been acquired.
