Where shold I start?

I am very interested in learning how to mod Freelancer. But I have no clue where to start can anyone help me?

I'm a ship modder, so with that bias in mind, I'd recommend starting by learning how to edit ship stats.

Spider - in the fourm for general editing you will find a thread stickied by accushoit called 'newbie questions look no further' - that is a good place to start!

The thread for newbie questions 2 look no further has an index on the first page to the otehr threads pages. That contains how to's on cargo, weapons etc

but you will need BiniQDU to open INI files which is where everything is contained in, so that is in downloads section under editing category. Next, its the shiparch.ini file contained in the freelancer\data\ships\ folder

Make sure you 'backup' the files before editing, as otherwise anything goes wrong you have probs. Def read a tutorial, and familiarise yourself with the ini layout (nicknames and so on for recognition) - like li = liberty, rh = rheinland, pi = pirate, bw is borderworld etc etc.
