Battletech Shippack possible T.C.

Well first off i have no expirence modding, but however i know exactly how i want this pack, and i am hoping with the help of the community i can make this dream a reality.

For starters let me say that i am a huge fan of the Battletech series, and i am also dissappointed at the lack of games or even mods for that matter that focus on the Space Battles that take place in the series when there are so many refrences on the subject I.E. AeroTech hand books, the original Battlespace which was replaced by AeroTech as well as the many Technical Readouts that have the many Naval vessels and Fighters.

I have every intention of starting off with just a ship pack to gauge the communities intrest in the mod. If i feel the community will respond well enough to it i hope to make a Total Conversion, adding all new ships, weapons, Systems, Stations and Planets.

Currently i need people for the ship pack and to modify some of the settings. The goal of this ship pack is to replace all of the standard fighters with new Fighters from the Battletech universe. as well as modify some of the weapons for the game. Basically what i am asking for right now is for Modellers and Coders, due to the unfortunate event that i have no modding experience.

Well, since you're new here, I'm going to be as gentle as possible. I suggest you read this and then decide how you're going to proceed.

Really... if you want this to get off the ground... please take the advice I have written to heart, and come up with a serious, thoughtful presentation. There are at least half-a-dozen wanna-be projects floating around here at any one time that never get done because the modders don't get their ducks in a row like I suggest. I, too, would love to see an Aerospace mod... I think that the ships from that game had a really interesting feel to them, and there might be ways to make some of the gameplay concepts work, etc., if you put your mind to it. But, to be perfectly real here... your chances of pulling it off in a non-crappy fashion are near zero if you cannot learn the skills you're going to need... or put together a very serious proposal that will get you the talent you'll need to have a chance. Either way, you have your work cut out for you- I'll betcha that most of the modders here don't even know what Aerotech was ... so I'd start by hunting down some web references and talk up the game's concepts and show some screenies to get people's imaginations rolling...
