IONCROSS TotalWar Update

We've added some new music and tweaked both the economic system and scoring system on our website to protect team scores from players changing sides or deleting. Its been awhile since we posted here and I don't see our main add up, o I'll copy that here as well!



Announcing the official public release of IONCROSS Freelancer: Total War - the ultimate gaming experience using the Freelancer engine! IONCROSS Freelancer: Total War (ICTW) was started in 2003 by Victor and JoeBoomz after the successful VictorMod 1.62 and grew into a major development effort by more than 30 developers and dedicated beta-testers. Thousands of man-hours went into the design and development of ICTW, which takes the Freelancer gaming world to a whole-new level. ICTW is not just another modification of the classic Freelancer game - but rather a completely new experience in space gaming.

IONCROSS Freelancer: Total War has some of the most innovative and sophisticated modding ever seen in Freelancer. The philosophy behind the development of ICTW is vastly different than most other mods. Victor didn't just add a bunch of ships, weapons, and systems, he completely overhauled the game to produce the most challenging and well-balanced game play possible.

Some of the key features of this mod include:

* JoeBoomz™ custom mod-loader software which all but eliminates unauthorized modding and cheating on the server (dont bother trying to cheat; it will just The loader also synchronizes local game files with the server, allowing dynamic changes in the game universe - the game changes every day!

* Instead of adding 30 systems, we reduced the number of systems in the main arena to 3. This forces players to interact more, which is a necessity for survival in this universe. Because this mod is so different, the New York system is dedicated to new players where they can learn the basics before becoming cannon fodder in the main arena.

* There are 4 main factions that players can belong to: two house factions: the Liberty Navy, and the Rheinland Military, and two pirate factions: the Liberty Rogues, and the Red Hessians. Each faction has their own equipment, bases, and ships. Players actually join and BELONG to a specific faction - no imagination is required!

* Fight against some of the most sophisticated and fiendish AI ever developed for Freelancer. Try to stop the lightning strikes of the pirates, raid transport convoys, or cower in fear before the onslaught of fearsome capital ships.

* Death has consequences here. Don't die, it's bad.

* Dynamic economy, stocks, ship upgrades, and a variety of specialized weapons.

* A cohesive back story and history to the mod universe. Discover its secrets at your own risk. Furious has completed a very thorough and entertaining set of info cards containing game secrets and "Easter eggs" for everyone to enjoy.

* A dedicated Ventrilo server and forum specifically for this mod - make IONCROSS your new home for Freelancer.

* Some of the most challenging trading ever seen. Â You will need to hire escorts and pay them well if you want to turn a profit.

* ICTW runs on a dedicated server built and purchased for ICTW, and runs on its own business-class cable modem that has been tested to support dozens of players without lag. More bandwidth is planned and standing-by when the player-counts rise, so ICTW is here to stay. Players are ALWAYS online!

Had to dig some to find out where to download the MOD.
That link you gave don't work for me.
I did find what I was looking for by starting at http://www.ioncross.com/
Clicked on Freelancer: Total War and got to the page were you can click on How to Contact http://207.210.72.138/~joeboomz/freelancer/

Click on Installation and you'll see where it says The loader can be downloaded here (version 2.0a, updated April 8, 2005). Read this entire page before attempting to install it. You have been warned.

I suggest that you do as it says and read the entire page... It will save you a lot of headaches...

Version 2.0 beta of IONCROSS: Total War has just gone live.

Texas, Hamburg and Bering have been redesigned and a new system, Hudson, has been added. The mod is a bit easier for the new players so long as you don't stray too far into the combat zone.

The dynamic economy has been reworked, and trading has been improved.
We also have flyable cruisers and transports as well.
