The New Era Mod - Comments - News - Suggestions -

This mod is a Total Conversion for Freelancer. It has :
-6 Systems made from Scratch.
-3 New CMs.
-6 New Thrusters.
-6 New PowerPlants.
-"Destructable" Universe (Any stationary thing can be disabled)
-Lots of new guns, missiles, mines and torpedoes.
-XYZ Thinking. Look up!
-A RPG-Orientated Aproach : No NPC, Stationary Defenses, Similar Systems, 4 Factions each at war.
-A few new concepts :
-Exploding Asteroids.
-Flak Guns.
-Booby Trapped Wrecks.

lol that would be funny....my question is..what happens if someone destroys the station or docking ring someone is docked at..what happens if they try to undock..or if someone destroyes the ENTIRE universe...cuz you would be kinda screwed....lol

This is why I putted Destructable in "", I meant in fact that when the Station reaches 0 of health, some FX show up like explosions and all, and then there is smoke and sparks coming out of it. But the station is still there. People can undock, but they cannot dock again

coooooooooool...but i point again to what hapens if someone DESTROYS THE ENTIRENUNIVERSE....servers would need to restart pretty damn often...+ it would suck to make long trde run to find out station is destroyed lol

It would be maddening after a long haul just to find your destination blown up. Me thinks that would be realistic. Huh. But point taken. Introducing destruction would open up a whole new can of worms. Will this mod be for both SP and MP?

Still do not think destroying a station is easy lol! I would like to remind you that the stations are equipped with EXTREMELY poweful guns known as Flak Guns.

Also, remember that this mod has been designed to be used as a team of players. This means that alone, you wont do even a scratch at anything. Once you chose who you want to be, you build up in your own system, and once you are high enough and numerous enough, attack. When attacking, people will have special pilots commanding Capitol Ships (These are defined by the Faction's Leader, which is himself a trustworthy member of the server hosting the mod), while most will be in fighters. Balance is a must here, so is toughness.

I warn you : This mod is NOT easy. It will never be. It was made to encourage big fights and a solid traders economy. If you do not follow this rule, you're dead.

The target in the mod will be to disable the ennemy's Main Station (Be it a CapShip or a Docking Ring, still unsure). Then you will be able to post a screenshot on the server's forums and you will get a "point" which will simply show who is leading. Then it will be a course at who will win. Points can be re-initialised each month, week, year, century, whatever.

And as you can read, this mod is MP Only and needs some implication of a board, admins (To give CapShips to players, as these are NOT buyable) and of a good community.

ok well that saves that ...sounds good.....and my freelancer decided NOW it refuses to connect to the internet..WHY YOU SON OF A #!@$!#$!@#!#....anyway keep the good work up...i look fordward to this....

I have digged this thread back for any bug you could find in the New Era Beta 2 that was released today.

I do not promise to fix them, but at least if someone wishes to use part of my code he'll know where to bugfix before usage.
