Extremely frustrated with all these mods

I'm looking for a half decent mod to play that works with FLMM v1.2

A mod that lets you fly cap ships and dock w/ them and all that good stuff.

There are just SOOOOOO many mods and SOOOOO many threads and posts about them I don't know which is QUALITY work.

I don't want some cheap half ass mod (like that "massive addon" mod).

For example, i heard battleship encounters was a good mod.... i looked EVERYWHERE on the lancer reactor's site for it but couldn't find it. I found the "battleship encounters advanced" mod which has an extremely poor description of it. All i found was "an addon to original battleship encounters mod". So what the hell does the ORIGINAL mod have? I have no idea what this mod does. >_<

I apologize in advance if i offended anybody, it's just that I didn't want to do the n00b thing and POST immeditly without looking through threads, doing searches, etc. for similar stuff but I have been searching through "Lancer's reactor's" downloads and through these threads over and over repeatidly for hourse to get good information and I found none.

I downloaded "chips storyline" mod or whatever it's called (i read a post that said it was good) and lo and behold it doesn't work with FLMM v1.2

i don't know. i just give up. For one thing the "downloads" section in lancer's reactor is extremely unorganized. There's no effective means of LISTING the mods and going through them. the only buttons u get are "previos page" and "next page" . come on....

the mods aren't even rated.... lame descriptions too some of them...

i just had enough...

so can anybody name a good mod that lets u fly cap ships and let u dock them on moores and etc. etc.?

You can categorise the mods in there by category, but it would be pretty nutts to make more categories - i sure wouldn't want to!

Baked made a large and time consuming post stickied above which contains info about all mods avaiable - you could have a read, although you would probs complain that its not organised.

Personally, i would say use any of the links that are provided on the front page to mods to download FLMM V1.3 instead! But that would be obvious i guess
It comes with a battleships encouters mod.

Yeah I found that post with all those mods listed. I never found battleship enhancments though! I still dunno what that mod does besides replacing a lot of fighters with cap ships flying around.

Does it let you FLY a cap ship???

All I really find interesting is your storyline mod and open SP mod and stuff.

Most mods just add star trek or star wars crap (don't get me wrong, i love star trek but it doesn't belong in a freelancer world with shooting lasers... star trek uses PHASERS and PHOTON/QUANTUM torpedos for christ's sake) or other misc stuff that are useful and good (like open sp or starting a new game w/ VHF) but ...

what i'm really looking for is a cap ship mod....I haven't found one...

Why do you want to fly a capital ship? For one, I havent seen a docking/mooring fix posted yet that actually works right, so you'd still get stuck entering or leaving places. And, from what I understand, battleship encounters just means there are capital ships roaming around in systems (and crashing into planets quite often). It does not mean you will have capital ships in your missions, so you will still just be facing fighters with your big, lumbering capital ship. Unless of course, you want to piss off one of the main houses and attack their roaming patrols so you can fight some other capital ships. But that wont get you very far advancement-wise, because I highly doubt any of the modders who made battleship encounters bothered to put loot on their patrolling capital ships.

Your behind the times a bit Rathelon...

We have metal, scrap metals, precious metals, admirals on battleships as loot, as well as some guns.

Missions have battleships in them, but only very high level missions - and they drop turrets etc. Of course, its a slight cheat, as they are masquerading as fighters, but you won't know the difference.

The docking is near impossible to fix, but we did the best job we could.
Handling is better, but the "spin" problem still remains, although we made this as minimal as possible.

I know you put that stuff in, but that's one mod out of how many?
