Blade Of Stars

Hey, everybody. I wanted to announce a few upcoming mods Ive been creating under the name "Blade Of Stars". (I have already completed one called "The Warp Freighter Mod"

One of them is the StarTrek Total Conversion Mod. This mod is pretty self-explanatory by the name. It will contain all new systems without the old ones, it will contain several star trek ships (if you want to contribute to the ships, that would be GREAT, and i would give you a large amount of credit as i have NO experience in ships) and all of the old ones will be gone. Same with the weapons, thrusters, shields, countermeasures, sheild+nanos repair, commodities, and possibly factions (this is ONLY a possibility as it takes a long time to add detailed functioning factions that use new ships). If I cannot create factions with new ships than i will change the IDS names and info of the factions so you will atleast get the feel of a StarTrek universe.

I will also be creating a mod for a server that a friend and myself are HOPING to make 24/7. It will add 3 new factions including the server police. It will add several new commodities including flight recorders that ships will drop in Missions. I will add a few stat changes to the ships including one ship will be copied and given extra hardpoints and high stat changes for Server Administrators and Server Police (the ppl, not the npc faction). It will add the warp thruster from the warp freighter mod and it will add one gun and one torpedo.

Another one is the United Nations faction mod. This will basically be an add-on for anyone that wishes to have the United Nations in their mod or on their server.

The last mod that i plan on releasing publicly is the USA extra systems mod. This will add several extra systems (and commodities that go with the system) that are named after states in the USA. I made this cause for one, I am part of the US. and 2, there are just a few states of the US that i would like to see in freelancer. (I would make one of these for other countries, but i am afraid i dont know many states or cities in other countries)

I hope to have these out ASAP (but it may take awhile as i am doing all of this by myself), but if you want to check out the freewebs site i am working on, than visit www.freewebs.com/FLBOS1 and you can see several different links and downloads and a few questionnaires. P.S. Almost forgot, one more mod i will release.

BOS Extra Commodities mod = will add atleast 50 different commodities to the game. COMPLETELY addon. This will be something server administrators can use when making a new mod or something. I will NOT be adding buy/sell locations. I will only be making the commodities exist so they are easy to put up for sale. If you have any suggestions for commodities that i could make than post them here with the name and short information about it that i can make the infocard into.

Have you asked Ripperman at Frostworks? They had a Star Trek total conversion going on, i don't know how much is done or what status its at - but they DO have terrific modellers over there that should make it happen....

The United Nations addon has been released at my site. I am also working on a new mod that has peaked my interest. I've been studying different mods. Some with power and armor upgrades. I also thought of my fine point in making thrusters. Then i studied some that had new engines. (seemed simple enough)

So I am making a test version for a new racing mod. And I mean on a LARGE scale. It is more or less a personal project right now. This is what it already contains:

Sabre Racing Ship (Gets Rid of old Sabre)
Repair man (like a powerful nano) - error
3 different engineers (power sources)
4 diff. engines (3 racing, 1 misc.)
3 diff. thrusters (racing)
Daytona 500 Racing system (with 6 bases)

The sabre racing ship has been modified so it will fit the role of a racing ship. It has one nanobot space for a repair man.

The repair man has an error. I basically made the same thing as the usual nanobot, but with a new nickname, new IDS name+info. The problem is that instead of being cargo like normal nanobots, it mounts to the ship and you can't use it. I think the problem is that I have not altered all of the necessary INI's. Can someone please list all of the necessary INI's here?

The Engineers are supposed to be like hiring an engineer. There are 3 different engineers from student to expert. The better the engineer, the better the power source.

The new engines are three stages of racing engines and one misc. engine called the escape engine. I don't wish to tell you more because there is something about these engines I am hoping to add to my new mods and am hoping no one else will think to do something similar. I think you will all like it. I don't know for sure if others have ever used the idea before, but oh well. Pretty obvious how to do it... I'll post later today when i complete the addon for these new engines

The thrusters are all racing thrusters and have high speeds, but you must dock in order to refuel your thrusters and they won't last long. More or less to simply pass other racers when the ships are close.

The new system took me absolutely forever, and I even used Freelancer Explorer. (It would have taken me weeks to make this single system if i had not, so I hope you like it) It adds 6 new bases (2 of them are not dockable), about a hundred warning buoys marking pit entrance and the perimeter of the center area (where the main base is and where the jumpgate to NY is). It adds a system perimeter field (these mark turns 1-4). There is a radiation field on the inside of turn 2 and a debris field at turn 4 to 1. To get to this new system, launch from manhattan and slightly to the left, there is a tradelane that goes to the jumpgate. The main base of the system is the closest base to you. The two bases you see in the distance are the Finish Line Bases and can not be docked with. You will find the three pit bases if you head towards the finish line bases, however, these bases are strictly for repair and have nothing of interest otherwise.

Possible updates in the future:
More racing maps
a few new factions for racing groups
more altered ships (if someone made the .cmp and .mat files for me i will use actual nascar models)
More of the extras: engineers, engines, thrusters etc. etc.
More bases across sirius will sell new engines that don't relate to racing.

If anyone can tell me all the necessary files for the nanobots than I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry I've been away for so long ppl. I'm gonna get back to work on the StarTrek Total Conversion ASAP with or without the ships, but i garuntee ill have them before i release.

hey, about the star trek ships, i was thinking about the same sort of mod and i found that starfleet command ships are easy to convert over to FL, but since you cant use the original game ships, you could find the fan made ones, get their permission, and try to use them in the mod. of corse this would involve emailing and bothering alot of people about permission to use the ships, but there are alot of ships available.

oh, and id be willing to help if you need it. i'm borderline trekkie so anything i can contribute...
