WC Mod Beta Test

Over the last six months, the Wing Commander mod for Freelancer, Privateer The Reckoning, has ran into a number of stalls and bumps in the road, but probably the most debilitating one has been a lack of input and beta testers. To be sure, there has been some C&C, but for the most part this mod team of one has been virtually in the dark, and work - not to mention morale - has plummeted. Meanwhile, the few willing testers have found numerous bugs - too many to submit to LancersReactor

This is the last chance. I cannot hope to do any kind of thorough testing on my own, and so I am releasing the mod to the general community. All I ask for this is a quick review (posted to this thread, preferbly), suggestions to improve the mod, and detailing of any bugs found.

OOoooo a WC mod!!! I love WC!
surprisingly i learnt about this on the wcrevival.de website, I didnt realise it was u tho! maybe I can Persuade Rey, and maybe you could join up with TNG! I looooove WC sooo much, Brilliant to know someone hasnt forgotten it

as you know, TNG is famed for its stability (nowdays )

Very interesting mod for playing single player only. Does it have any fleet encounters?

Found major bug with mod.

Leaving Liberty (SOL) system via any of the jumpgates or jump holes will cause game to crash aka CTD.

Bob I will take a look at it too. It would be great if you can get enough personal together to finish the mod. I enjoyed the Privateer games. From what I have seen so far this mod has great potential.

Am willing to help out if needs be - i keep getting bored of making my mod (been working on it for a while) so a change of scenery might do me good. The real good news, i have no job, so spend most of my day modding like an idiot right now........

oh - i also have a really good beta tester who does testing for me. Put it this way, when i said i needed to check for crashes and that my ships docked with bases, he got back to me with details of where he crashed, and the nature (repetively, or had to go round etc) after visiting EVERY system and docking with EVERY base several times with a VARIETY of ships. Now if that aint the best damned beta tester in the world - i don't know what is! Of course 1) I cannot speak for the man in question, i will contact him and 2) He is back at work now, but you never know when he might be free etc!

Is it only Privateer ships? That's all I saw in the screens. I've been hoping someone would import the Excalibur and Dragon from wc3/4, if I knew how to do that stuff, I'd do it myself.

I have downloaded the Privateer mod (being a WC Privateer fan myself) and have been playing it for the last few days. It is a really good mod for not being 100% complete. This is what I myself have discovered so far that could be fixed in the mod:

- The game crashed on me when I was in the Badlands area of Sol heading for the Aggressor wreck there.
- Mission cards still show faction names from original FL game, not the modded one.
- When flying toward a mission waypoint, your ships engine sound decreases to nothing until you come out of cruise mode.
- Shield batteries and nanobots still show up as dropped loot.
- The "booklet" that comes with your mod seems to be the ONLY way to find out the power level capability of your ship, since this info does not show up in the info cards.
- ALL Power Plant cards read the same. The price changes, but all the Power Plants read as a level 0 power plant.

Thats all I noted for now. Will continue playing the mod and provide any further details as I come across them. All in all, a really great mod!

Now that Bob McDob has agreed to include his mod into TNG and some time has past, what is the status of that inclusion?

And were there difficulties with overlapping registeries or boundaries of the two mods?
