I need help with this credits mod i

Q: What do you need help with dudeofthed?
A: What i need help with is to get this program working please. I want to create a mod that let's you choose how much starting credits you'll like by changing some settings in the EXE\newplayer.fl file. I just don't know what is wrong.

Basically, your script was a little screwed up. You have </header> at the bottom of your script file - it should be after </options> nearer to the top. Also, scriptversion is usually 1.3, not 1.0, but I'm not sure if this makes a difference.

All of your <exe file="exe\newplayer.fl" method="sectionreplace" options="1:0"> should be <data file="exe\newplayer.fl" method="sectionreplace" options="1:0"> and the </exe> should be </data>, for all entries.

You're missing
<dest>
money = 500
</dest>
in your bottom data entry (below </section>.

All your [player entries should be [Player, with a capital P (everything is case sensitive).

One more thing...my newplayer.fl file is encoded, so I'm not sure if your file is different.

Ok there is one problem. I did exactly what you said but an error message keeps popping up.
Read below so i can explain to you properly:

I need more information! If you think ANYONE can help you when all you say is "There is an error", then you're quite mistaken.

"Look in the log for more details". Why not try that? I think it's in your FLMM directory - just copy/paste the error, or email me your decoded newplayer.fl file so I can help you out.

Just look below in FLMM - where there is a small brownish box area below the mods - it says "LOG"

Try reading that.

Guy's you do not understand.
I made a mod and there is errors in it.
I do not know what the problem is but it is a script.xml file and i hardly know how to write script files. I copyed one script with certain options on it from another mod.

Yea so. I'll post a download link again for you to see.
Read the first topic for the download link and could you please by any chance finish the mod and upload it to an uploading site.

It could be real simple. All you have to do is post the error that you get from FLMM!!

I dunno nothing about modding, but maybe you cannot have starting money at zero like you have for normal class ;-)

Well, that mod only works for me when I want to get $999,999,999. I have no idea why it won't work for the others. Then again, I don't have a newplayer.fl file like yours, so I can't help you any further, and neither could anyone else without that file. You'd better include it or else no one will be able to use your mod.

Now that is what a normal decoded newplayer.fl file looks like ok. Please help me still.

Alright. You see how you have 3 options (Normal, High Class, Real Rich Class)?

Each one is editing the same line, so when you try to activate the mod, the first option makes the "money = 500" line become "money = 0". Then the second option tries to find "money = 500", but can't, so you get an error.

You need a "default" option in each of those - meaning it just leaves the cash as "money = 500", For example, under <Options>, you would see:

And so on for as many as you want.

Under the data part, you'd see this (this is for another mod, but you get the idea):

Notice how there's no "Option 0" (1:0) in the data part? That means that if you choose "No Change/Default" from the drop down menu, no changes will be done. You need to make an "option 0" for each of your 3 cash Classes - just don't put anything in the data section.

Then you just pick ONE of the values from ONE of your three main options to make it work right. If you still have problems, just make one big list with all the different cash amounts (from 0$ -> $999,999,999). Hope this helps a bit.
