Need help with Ioncross Server Operator

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Need help with Ioncross Server Operator

How do I manage a server with Ioncross Server Operator? Also, I was wondering if it's possible for another admin to control the server remotely?

this is how you use iron cross first put your data files in you prob did that allready then just turn it on i will automatcally find the fl server exec if you cant find it tell it where it is then your player data files . but first change the version number of yor freelancer server then everything should be ok . set up maintance and all that make sure your date and time match up with with iron cross . personally its too much work i use cdlite 1.23 and fl hoook i dont know if cdl 1.23 supports different version numbers.

Changing the version number did the trick. Thanks.

One last question: is there a way to manage a server remotely? I have someone managing the server through Ioncross, but can I also log in somehow and manage it remotely as well? Otherwise I'll have to ask him to manage it by himself, and if I want something done, I'll have to ask him to do it through email.

edited out sig.

You can try using Remote Desktop Connection
There is other remote connection software of course but Remote Desktop Connection comes with windows and is free.

To run it, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click Communications, and then click Remote Desktop Connection.

I see. I thought there was some sort of a remote management function built into Ioncross. >_>

no there is none you have to be the server manager . in other words you have be there. but there are alot of auto functions like auto maintance auto kicks and bans like language you ban certain weapons like uber shields. but to change reps and money add it or take away or names you have to do that manually. even giving people the nav map its all manual and you have be on that computer. unless you can see the other persons desktop and whats going on.

FLShell is compatible with the IONCROSS Server operator, i use them together. FLshell allows remote control in game to anyone with admin rights.

Its not the simplest tool to set up but you dont have to be a rocket scientist by any means.

I havent found an actual DL site, and sadly the rumor I heard was its writer is no longer with us, Freelancing in the heavens above we hope. That said, Im sure if you ask around someone can get the file up somewhere for you.
