Wierd Server Names

Why is it that alot of servers have [[[[[[[ in front of there names? Is it due to translation? Or maybe caused by an error in server programs? Or do some people just like it like that?

My guess is this is done to make a server appear at the top of the list.

yea, if you sort the servers by name, the more [[ you have, the better is your "ranking"

Yes, Indeed, some servers strive to be more 'l337' than others, by adding more characters in front. Sometimes, so many that you can't see the name at all!

Calculate the cost and personal expense of running a server, then add the amount of hours admin and running the server, then add the hours of running and paying for a website and forum, then add the hours taken to make a mod.

Then you get an incy wincy bit of insight as to why people do this.

Its got nothing to do with 'l337'

but you've noticed said server, and can view how many players it has on it as well.
