Logging onto server

Now I know this is possible as i have dont it in the past, but I cant log onto a local server, it is on the same pc as i am running the client (It has worked before) but it just says that communicating with server is taking longer than normal, and thats all, can any one shed any light on the situation.

Are you using a mod of any sort?

nope, just the basic install of freelancer including the Server, and added the v1.1 patch for the server.

Recheck what you have set up. with the info in the sticky above that tell you how to set a server up.
