LAN SERVER/CLIENT HELP

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

LAN SERVER/CLIENT HELP

I'm trying to run my own server on my LAN/network but currently I'm having a problem getting the Client to "See" my Server. When I click LAN after clicking multiplayer I get an empty server listing grid. When I click Internet play I do get the listings from the Global server. Note, I'm trying to run both the Server and the Client from one PC. Also I do not have "Microsoft TCP/IP version 6" in use. I am running Windows XP with a pretty new Linksys router. I am running the most current TNG mod and I can connect to and play on other servers running the same mod via the Global Server list. I would love to get this working but so far I'm kind of frustrated. Any help anyone has would be big time AWSOME.

You should not have any problem connecting to your own server.
The only thing I can think of is.
Do you have a network card installed or integrated on the motherboard
and are you starting flserver.exe before you try to connect to your LAN...

I do let FLServer start before trying to conect. My Eithernet is built into my mother board. Anyway around this being the problem without having to add a Eithernet PCI card? Thanks for the reply.

Just a follow up for anyone with the same problem. I did not have IP6 enabled but after running out of ideas and "ADDING" a eithernet card I did finaly get my own LAN game working by installing IP6 protocal to my network connection. This goes against other posts that I have seen stating Freelancer has problems with IP6 and not to use it..........
