Server can not be connected

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Server can not be connected

I had my server disconnected from my LAN a couple of days. It haz been working fine before.
Now it wont show itself on my LAN at all in the listing az a LAN server. It shows itself az an Internet server with my external IP! Itz impossible to connect (time-out).
Does anyone know wth happened? I didnt change a thing in my network, but tried everything from changing router, switchs, deleting MODs, reinstalling FL and firewall........
FLping gives a result in my LAN, but with a ridiculous high ping......
HELP?

Looking at your screenshot I cant help but wonder why it's showing other servers if you clicked on LAN instead of Internet.
And you did start flserver.exe first right?

I have had this problem (a long time ago) and had to open my LAN wide open before I found the specific problem. My software firewall wasn't set correctly and DirectPlay (part of DirectX) changes the ports it uses every time it starts over.

While this may not be your issue, it is definately an issue with your FL server ports getting read by your gaming 'puter through your LAN. Most likely culprits are your firewall(s).

I am getting quite some emails about what I did to resolve my problem......

I actually did a clean install with WindowsXPPro, Freelancer, ZoneAlarm, FLMM, Ioncross and the mod. So I never really found the reason for my problem, but did a complete new install...... sorry I cant help you out guyz......

I'm experiencing a similar problem. I run FLServer.exe on one of my PCs in my LAN. People outside the LAN can access the server and play without any problems. When I go to my other PC on my LAN I can see the server, I can access the password request, enter the password and then it just times out trying to make the connection.

The only firewall I'm running is the one in my router. I've completely uninstalled ZoneAlarm from both PCs and opened up UDP ports 2302-2304 in my router as well as assigning my PC running the server it's own IP within the network.

I still can't access the doggone server...

What am I missing?

Found the solution to my problem. Turns out disabling the TCP/IP Microsoft version 6 service in my network connections did the trick.
