Want to play online

Hi all. I got Freelancer for xmas last year and have been waiting to be able to play online since. I finally got the internet on dads laptop (only computer that runs freelancer) and now I'm looking for a noob friendly server. I'd prefer not to have mods on and just play vanilla.
Is there anything that I do need to download to play?

Any info much appreciated

Is Fl2? out Yet, Anyway Your Welcome To Join My Server "Star Trek Voyager Server" No Mods Just Yet Accepting Good Ship Mods Only.

Rules Are:

No Pvp 2k From Any Planet Or Starbase

No Cheats/Mods (Unless Asked about Mods)

No Attacking Newbies

Were also Looking For Mods (You Might Be One!)

Do I need to download any of the patches (V1.1 or V1.4) and how do I join a server. I have never played anything online before so its kinda confusing for me. Also, does it make any difference what country I'm in? I live in Australia. Unfortunately FL2 is not out. I don't even know if it exists. I just want it.

Well

1 Load Freelancer
2 Click Multiplayer
3 Yes then Internet
4 Let it Load, And If Nothing Shows, Then Youll Have a Firewall And You Must Open Some Ports

Then Look For My Server Star Trek Voyager Server

No patchs Required

And i Live in Australia! too
