Help. How do i get online ?

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Help. How do i get online ?

ive had freelancer (a bought game) for a while but never tried multiplay online. Id now like to play multiplay but it doesnt seem to load a server/servers.
I link to broadband internet, then load in game disc..i choose multi player.. it then asks LAN or internet (ive tried both..but which should i choose im in uk ). next screen i guess is supposed to list servers to choose from.. this remains empty and none load ? ...A message is displayed in grey saying "connecting to worldwide server....." What am i doing wrong ? Am i supposed to join anything ? Is there a cost ? Should this game be disc or harddrive played ? Has this been a problem with anyone else ? HELP please anyone.

Me ad him hav both tryedt o get on the internet to play Freelancer with a few others but both can't connect if mines off and no lan pluged in he gets the server list if mine is off but lan pluged in he gets gray connecting but no servers.

So i added my IP to the firewall as my IP is stactic then gave my end access to change settings on the modem and now both of us can play Freelancer over web.

Well - check this forum and you find MANY questions. Have you granted the Freelancer.exe file permission through your filewall, or even the new SP2 (windows XP) update packs firewall? You should do this for both, ensure your connected to internet - and then enjoy.

See the Freelancer Technical Help forum - at the top is a stickied thread about Firewalls and Windows XP SP2
