Better to do this or that?

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Better to do this or that?

Should I connect to MY own server thru Internet or thru LAN? What would keep lag the losest, and stop possible server crashes?

Assuming that your server is on the same network as your PC, it doesn't matter. The same network protocol and game engine is used for both.

Make sure the server or client is not modded.

If they are modded incorrectly they will crash.

Happend to me a few times while beta-testing mods
