Nieve little newbie needs help!!!:-(

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

probally your Router and or software firewall is blocking it. So you will have to open the normal ports that a Server does.

UDP 2300 - 2305

I would also suggest that you check the FL cd that you have. If you explore the CD, it has documentation on it that has a whole kebang kerboodle of stuff on there which is primarily aimed at snuffing out any issues you may be having with FL whilst trying to play it

Chances are if you are not connecting to FL global server, DirectPlay (part of DirectX) is messed or FL itself is messed. But first, never install the patch on an FL client (meaning if you are not running a server for FL), ok? Otherwise install/reinstall DirectX v9.0b, it's the lastest. Then reinstall FL but do not install the patch. Then try again.

Unless you have an OUTGOING firewall (like ZoneAlarm) or a real mean ISP (whomever runs your Internet connection so that could also be a college if you are at school) who is blocking certain ports in the OUTGOING direction, then you should be able to connect and play. Good luck.

Or if anything else fails you could try the direct IP connection method, you may find out some instructions on how to do it here.
Hope this helps.
