Use a different name.

Nope this one is a game problem. no matter what name you use, it will still tell you, name taken. The person needs to uninstall their freelancer completely. Then reboot, then reinstall and it should fix the problem.

sounds like a corrupted file for your account. The server host will need to find your file folder and delete everything in it. Sadly, you'll lose all your character accounts after this.

I've had this problem testing out mods on my server. I'd remove a character name and try to create it again, only to get a message that the name is already taken, when I know it's not. Once I deleted my account folder I didn't have any further problems.

heres a problem. I had a server running TNG 1.7 and i changed the starting ship and starting money and reputation. The problem is, i could log on to my server but other people could not. whats the problem?
