FLSO aka IFSO notice to Euro Admin users date bug again

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

FLSO aka IFSO notice to Euro Admin users date bug again

todays date has thrown up the old date bug again 02/02/2004

Quick fix for euro Admins is:
1. using the MM/DD/YYYY in Windows regional settings fixes it just a pain having to think in American dates.
2. You will have to either rebuild or redo the player list completely
3. remember to change the FLSO setting as well.

We just found another small bug in FLSO that may ban people incorrecty for the "item not sold on base" (or something like that). So just a heads up that there is a possibility that if someone is kicked for that it may not be cheating. I want to send an email to joeboomz, but I can't find his email address - does somebody have it handy? I'll keep searching, I know I've seen it somewhere. . .

www.ioncross.com contacts and forums links there

As for the not soild on base bug in FL 1.1 its Know about, but up to you to you if you enable it. If you do enable the auto ban then you have to check if that player has been banned for a specific reason that triggered the bug, if not then I'd leave it.

ed: @ merc the dates missmatch in the regional settings for Euro users trigger a error msg in FLSO, so it can't do which ever process it needs to. In my case it was deleteing the old inactive characters on that day as it happened on my servers normal cleanup day.

I went to the ioncross website and couldn't find any "contacts". I went to the forum and when I look at his profile, his email address is blocked. :-( I guess I'll register there and send him a PM.

Also, I think you might be thinking of the mission bug, but that's not what I'm talking about. This is a legit piece of equipment that FLSO kicks you for if it's unmounted (works fine if the equipment is mounted).

So will this bug stay, or is it just active on certain days? If it is then does that mean we have nothing to worry about anymore?

Thanks Pinger, I registered on the ioncross/fiik forum and sent joeboomz a PM. In fact, I'll send you the PM there also so you can know what I'm talking about.

Thanks,
Wasabe

Sorry Wannabe, I only get on this forum once a day to catch up on messages and it's easy to miss them here and there.

I USED to be able to search for "Joe" or "IONCROSS" in ALL forums and I would get a nice list of ones to read, but now I have to do the search for every forum separately and it's just as fast to actually just page through the most recent messages <poke> hey gibs, you gonna fix this for me?

ANYWAY, as I replied in your PM, IFSO will boot players and post a console message to the universe announcing it was an IONCROSS kick. Any other kicks are done by the 1.1 patch itself. If the player's getting kicked due to cheats without a console notification, it wasn't IFSO.

I'm aware that that 1.1 patch will kick very readily (especially if the server itself is modded) and that's why the security control panel in IFSO lets you control what type of cheat kick will be auto-banned. On the server with the problem, you may want to leave the autoban option for the equipment cheat kick unclicked.

Pinger, sorry, I haven't had ANY time to do anything on IFSO because I'm still busy working on the mod. It's coming along VERY well, and it's getting there. I'm not able to give you guys a time when I can continue to work on IFSO, but it hopefully won't be that much longer. I'll take another stab at fixing my stupid date bug then I hope it's not improperly deleting your characters again and that the software was smart enough to give you the error and skip that step for now.

I've learned a ton of new tricks working on my mod software that I'll probably be implementing in IFSO This stuff will be handy to serverops running RPG servers. Anymore, more on that later when I start working on it again.

Joe the bug never happened cause the blocker you put in stopped it, it just wont process the mainenance action until I change the date format in regional settings and rebuild the player list to change its dates as well.
